Browsing through the footie websites this morning there was a little note saying Michael Tonge is to be signed on loan until the New Year at least - Nothing else I can find about it anywhere else but is possable because Tonge is not currently in the Stoke first team.

Another Creative Midfielder!
Perhaps LJ will be recalled and we can have a midfiled of LJ, NK and MT!

Why oh why don't we fix what is actually BROKEN - the DEFENCE

We've been using a first division defence since our days in that division and never upgraded for the Championship.
GJ didn't do anyhing about it and neither did Millen, i just hope DM realises quickly before our days in this division are over.
It's not rocket science to understand any team needs a solid defence. You then build from there and if we can at least get a few clean sheets, we will be moving in the right direction.

KM your sortof namesake did try and sign some good defenders but they all seemed to sign for premiership sides which is a situation we are likely to face a lot if we are looking to sign the best players we can.
DM has said he is going to have to try the loan market for the players he wants although NK played well today with Cisse in the side doing the defensive duties so perhaps DM won't be quite so desperate for a creative midfielder as the commanding CB he also wants, lets hope he has enough good contacts to get the players he wants(Perhaps from Scotland used to be a happy hunting ground for us in years past
Gerry Gow the Ritchie brothers Donnie Gillies etc.)

Keef- I do agree with you on this. A great side is built from the back.
You cant build a house on quicksand etc....

Hawky - many happy ones of the Gerry Gow the Ritchie brothers Donnie Gillies etc connection.
Some of that quality would be very well received, although I also remember Tony Fitzpatrick

Tony Fitzpatrick on his day could be a world class player, I remember some fantastic defence splitting passes, the problem was like certain other midfielders we have had in the recent past his days were few and far between.

TF, or Fonytits as I used to call him, did flatter to deceive. I find it hard to recall something he did during his 2 years here that made me sit up and take notice. Always looked like he could but never actually did. Bit like Scuze I suppose. I once thought Lampard would be that type of player though, and how wrong he proved me ! There is always hope...
