Did anyone notice that Millwall, the "donkeys" of the Championship who cost Sven his job by beating us, thumped Ipswich 4-1? Perhaps they are a little better than they have been rated. Ipswich are not a bad team and Millwall's latest win makes the sacking of Sven look an even more ridiculous decision.

***He could have said "given the wholesale changes this squad/team may take some time to gel" It would have been perceived as it would have been intended i.e reality.***
He could also have said, with an equal degree of realism: "David Beckham come to Leicester – what planet do you live on?" But he daren't. I have commented a number of times during the past year that it seems clear to me that there are certain things our owners don't want to hear.
Sven crossed the line very early in his relationship with them when he said something to the effect that shooting from rock bottom of the division to a promotion slot was a tall order, and that he would do his best, but it might have to be a case of simply getting the team winning and looking for promotion the following season.
This was rapidly slapped down with a statement from 'Top' that failing to get promoted last season was not an option. Having had his fingers burned rather publicly, from then onwards Sven just said whatever he knew they wanted to hear, and the tongue in his cheek was almost visible. Yes, of course we were putting out feelers for David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Shay Given… he'd have added Stanley Matthews and Pele if Top had heard a rumour that they were available.
"It will take time to gel" was not something he could say without being publicly contradicted by Top, so he didn't. He was hoping the team would actually gel quickly enough that things would be fine before the Thais' patience ran out. In the event, he was being over-optimistic.
And that's why MON won't come. He doesn't have Sven's ability to just agree politely (or at least appear to do so) with owners' demands and meanwhile ignore them and get on with the job. Tell MON that you want to sign Beckham and he'll say "Oh, that's just silly!"

Proof that 'You'll Never Walk Alone' should really have been a Leeds song, not a Liverpool one. People who 'lol' their own comments tend to have more than one voice in their heads.

There's no Millwall on JA606, l11ds, they're all somewhere else! I sort of miss them ..
Meanwhile why not use their board for further discussions?

On the article topic ... yes, I've noticed that that blasted "Millwall Express" seems to be clanking out of the sidings again .. let's hope it derails sooner rather than later
On a provocative note ( ) .. I thought you lot were going to walk this league with your swollen coffers and famous (ex) manager this season?
" Now Adam Clayton ....... oh WHAT A GOAL!!!"

It did make me happy, Hawkmoonfy2
What's more, I think you'll survive this season, I saw you on one of my rare trips to Elland Road, ( I live in Truro now) and thought you played some decent football .. we were lucky to win it!
Adomah is an excellent player, I said so on the BBC 606 last season, and by all accounts he was key in the victory at Millwall. Hope you can hang on to him, and good luck for the rest of the season ( Leeds' visit to Ashton Gate excepted, of course)
