Last Time Liverpool Won The League

was more than 20 years ago and they have the nerve to crack Arsenal trophy drought jokes?

And I never realised how strong the conviction and belief pool fans have in their team despite the lack of evidence to back the talk.

You can call it delusion but it's until now that hit me how how serious this infecting disease of the mind is. A guy who's a dieheard Liverpool fan from my Uni was trying with maximum effort to convince me that Suarez is a better, deadlier striker than RvP and whatsmore, Defoe can score the same amount of goals if not more had he been in a team that creates lots chances.

I thought he was joking but you know you can tell if someones pulling your chain or not and I knew this guy had total unwavering belief in what he was saying.

I told him to look at the stats, one look at the stats will destroy your pathetic case for Suarez and Defoe to pieces and guess what his reply was -

"stats don't paint the whole picture"

I thought there is no point wasting my time with a blind !£$ker like that.

I don't know what's up with the scousers it must be something in the water or something because there is no explaining whatsoever of where this delusion stems from.

Suarez - 28 apps 8 goals

Defoe - I'm not even going to go there. It's an insult to RvP

i'm sorry mate i'm having none of it, look at some of the forwards in world football and look at Carroll, an absolutely ridiculous way to spend £35m. in theory you could say that about any young player... 'in x amount of years they will be quality' but i'm just looking at what he does on the pitch, like you said to do with Suarez, and i don't see much about him at all.

CPofL/8bithero, I can't talk to you anymore if you don't realise that watching a player play gives you more information about a player than stats ever will.

Btw the way this is me saying in a nice way that both of you are a bit dim and I'd rather continue to debate with people who know a bit more about football. So off you go. You can have a before you go.

SuperbFrank - I think Carroll is being protected at the moment. You know as well as anyone that a player who has a big price tag gets a lot of stick when he is not playing well i.e. Torres. We don't have to play him at the moment, as we have other strikers, and we're doing ok in the league. He has improved this season, he's scored a couple of goals and he will improve. He hasn't reached the form he showed last season at Newcastle but that is because he's a young lad who has moved club, he was injured when he first joined and he is getting used to the team. He will never be world class, and unfortunately that price tag has put him in a bracket where he will be compared to world class players, but without a doubt he will be a good striker who will score goals.

when did i say that i see Suarez missing a bucketload of chances, for me that's not great form for a striker. i never said he's in poor form and i never said he's not a class player, but when he starts putting the chances away then he will be on top form.

Don't want to make you look like a plank 8bthero but you did say this

"it's not hard to be Liverpool's best player, if he was having a great season he would have scored more than 4 goals."

followed by this sarcastic reply

"CPofL this isn't Football Manager mate, goals and assists are not what you judge a striker with. i suggest you watch him in a game to see what else he contributes "

Watch a footballer rather than just reading the stats mate. I assure you, you'll enjoy football a lot more

if a striker is missing a lot of chances he's not on great form

I can catogorically state that I have watched him not score or create much.
A nutmeg on the halfway line doesn't mean you're a good striker

You have the same number of goals as Blackburn so just what is Suarez doing after all this great play?

exactly, this guy seems to think mentioning Suarez has only scored 4 goals means we are stat addicts who don't watch any football i've seen Suarez, and he's been incredibly wasteful. this guy will start jizzing over him when he starts putting them away!

But neither of you have watched him play every game; you've seen highlights and probably the odd match. So you are making your opinion on the basis of the 4 goals.

WengersNearlyMen, he has no chance of taking me to the toilet
