This has to end now!
Clough's Christmas slumps are now as regular as Slade and Whams 'Last Christmas' at this time of year.
Every year now you can set your watch by it, we start off well because no team knows how we play, then by mid Oct/early November teams start to pick up on our game and stop us from playing, resulting in loss after loss because Mr Clough doesnt have a plan B.
On last nights display, Who actually does the scouting for the upcoming teams we face??? Anyone???
Surely not. Anyone with a footballing brain will have told you that Brighton do nothing but play the ball around, alot like Swansea on every visit to Prideless Park. but we failed to press them at all and were happy to watch them pass it out from the back and then back to the keeper, think I counted around 3 times we actually went and hunted them down, it resulted in either a corner or attacking throw in. This something we should have done from the first minute until the 93rd!
Poor management from a poor management set up.
The board are as much to blame for this as Clough as they are the one's who shotgun signed him up for another 3 disastrous years.
Clough and his band of brothers are a cancer on this club and need to be removed before we join the Red Dogs in League 1 next season.
Clough, Crosby, Garner, Newsagent Clough, Taylor. your time is up, you've been on the gravy train for nearly 4 years now, Feck off and let this club have a fighting chance!!!
Clough is like Xmas

It's good to see decent debate about Clough's merits without resorting to polarised views of "haters" and "happy clappers".
I think he's not shown enough for his extension to be justified and have made no secret of the fact I think he should be replaced BUT!!
As Bushy eventually managed to type, GSE are at least as much a problem. Do I believe that there's a war-chest there and they're just reluctant to let Clough spend it? No. Do I believe Clough would spend it wisely if there was? No. Do I have a solution that doesn't involve Sheiks, oil money and a complete disregard for the sporting fairness of honest competition? No.

Seial...I've been told that Tyson is the highest earner...if he's not the highest 1, he'll be 1 of the highest. He would of made the move from down the road worth his while....Pearson took a massive pay cut when he signed a new contract under Clough a couple of years ago. I've had enough of clough signing loads of players that aren't up to scratch and he then has to replace....It's like buying a cortina then having to replace it with a sierra the following year....eventually he might buy a focus.

I totally agree with the comments regarding GSE.
But with Clough, He spent £600k on Maguire and £600k on Dave Martin.

The figures are exaggerated Lee, but its beside the point. He's wasting the money he is given.

I think Bushwacker made some great points, esp his first post. If Clough goes, does anyone seriously believe GSE can get the decision right about a new manager? What we really need, as someone said, is a DoF able to act between the manager & board.
I actually think Clough can spend large sums of money well : we've been linked with some good players from Hooper, Sharp, Pitman but nothing materialised.
The trouble is, with money being at a premium, practically every signing must work and we can ill afford fringe players (Cywka, Maguire) alongside injured ones. Clough has shown an eye for a bargain (Ward), but like many managers has a failure rate (Burley too, I remember that defender from Crewe, also Mo Konjic, constantly injured).
That's not to say he has made some strange signings. Dave Martin cost around £200k, but it seems he was signed after one good against us for Millwall in the cup. The situation regarding Maguire & Tyson is another issue weakening Clough's position.
I think the new contract issue ought to have waited, but the media speculation, as per usual, got everyone hysterical and it took place before yet another injury crisis up front.

OK so weve reacted too soon with Nigels contract, in hindsight it was possibly a bad decision.
What should GSE do, stick with it - at this rate (the term of his contract) we could be on the verge of the conference or realise they have made a mistake and haul Nigel into the office and say you have got the next 3 games & we require a minimum of 6 points and if you dont achieve it your out.

Millwall stated that the deal was worth up to £600k for them when Martin left....
regarding the contract issue. I stated on here we should wait untill Jan to see where we were. But as usual on here if your view is different ot some you get shot down...

The money spent in the summer relieved some of the symptoms but not the underlying cause. The patient has relapsed and haemorrhaging points and ambition .
Two changes are required to put the Rams on the long term road to success: GSE out and Clough out. Although there is not yet the head of steam amongst fans to accomplish that, rest assured Agent Clough is working on it...

Nail on the head there sandman, the only way out of this mess is for the both of them to go, but as you say there isn't enough will from the fans to do that .......yet, or anyone coming out to want to buy the club apart from gadsby, on the plus side league wise, pompey might get a points deduction to help us out of a pickle at the bottom!
