The thing about going unbeaten the whole season is that there are hidden traps that come with success.
Years back our lot had a PL game on Wednesday, an F.A. Cup semi final against Manchester United on the Saturday and then a Champions League quarter final against Chelsea on the Tuesday and then Liverpool in the PL on the Saturday.
We rested some players for the semi and got beat and then went out on away goals in the CL on the Tuesday.
But being the class act that we were, we stayed unbeaten in the Premier League!
Its hell out there!
That Unbeaten Feeling!

I've not praised United once in this thread merely questioned the terminology.
in·vin·ci·ble/inˈvinsəbəl/
Adjective:
Too powerful to be defeated or overcome: "an invincible warrior".
Synonyms:
unconquerable - insuperable - unbeatable - insurmountable

Yes, and as the term refers to the league campaign that is true of Arsenal.
Arsenal, in the league, were too powerful to be overcome or defeated.
Rocky Marciano was invincible in the Boxing ring as a professional, and as such is lauded for his unbeaten career. He lost 4 fights as an amateur though. Doesn't detract from his legend.
Same with Arsenal. Fact is, in the league Arsenal were unbeaten. Undefeated. Invincible.

judge, it was a fantastic achievement and i would be very proud to say we had equalled it if it does happen

Arsenal were champions that season well done, on a sidenote they never lost a league game, well done on winning the title that season and picking up the premier league trophy.

But Marciano didn't lose those amateur bouts in between professional bouts and still claim to be unbeaten which is what the "Invincibles" have done.

BUT,,,, Marciano is said to be unbeaten. as i have just shown he was beaten.
And Arsenal have never claimed to be unbeaten in the 2003/04 season.
They claim, factually, they were unbeaten in the Premier League in 2003/04....
(ps the media gave the term Invincible. google Invincible and you will see Arsenal alongside Australias cricket team and PNE. Get over it! Arsenal were invincible in the 2003/04 PL season, undebateable)

Arsenal did it with half the resources of City.
----------------------------------------------------------------
You lot spent over 100m in the five seasons before you were the 'invincibles'. That's hardly doing it like Oliver Twist, especially considering what 100m in the late 90s, early 00s would be worth today.

In that case we did it with a fifth of the resources Cit eh have

I googled invincible, came up with Michael Jackson, a dead Australian cricketer, a battleship, some comics and some lyrics to Muse. I'm on page 10 and no mention of the "invincibles"
How far do I have to go?

Strange Thunderkiss, when I do it 6 of the first ten mention Arsenal.

Should be Invincibles, btw.
