WORST Wednesday game ever

Briggs article got me to thinking that, while I have many great memories of Owls matches, I have few really bad ones. Given our fall from when I started following the Owls in the mid-1980's, I was suprised.

Do we block out bad games? Or is a blinkered love for the club enough of a defense mechanism that I'll alway try to take some positive. After some thought, I'd have to say my worst single games are probably:

The 8-0 defeat to Newcastle - the moment I knew that relegation from the Prem was likely (although Shearer was at his peak, and it was a 'one-off' so we'll probably win next week)

Losing 7-1 to Forest at Hillsborough from around 94/95 (although I recallwe played OK first half and could have gone in in front).

Have a think, then be grateful that you've probably had more good times than bad.

Losing to Brighton.
Drawing to Palace.

Going to Selhurst is a poor match experience overall - the transport sucks, the stands suck, it always seems to be very grey, wet and cold, the facilities are dire and we always get a draw. etc. etc.

Shib, for me Selhurst has the advantage of being just over the hill from here. the pies weren't too bad last time I went. Back in the days when the crazy gang were there I could drive to the ground and park across the road!!

My worst two games have to be the two recent visits to Reading

For me it was the Palace game when we got relegated.

However bad the other games were, I don't think I've ever been so close to despair.

I remember coming out of the pub in NY afterwards thinking, "this might it, this might be the end"
