In his playing career in England, Hoddle only won a couple of FA Cups and the UEFA cup with Spurs. My question is, did he made mistake remaining at Spurs? After all, he won the French title the first season after leaving Spurs. A player of his calibre and talent would have been better suited playing for a side challenging at the top of the league.
What do you say Spurs fans?

Not that much anymore Bubbles
Hoddle was arrogant, and when you see some of the goals he scored they were nothing shot of amazing
But a great player, one of few that would survive in the modern game

Great Player, poor manager
When Liverpool ruined thee league and brought about the decline of English football we lost all our great players, took years for the league to recover from the damage Liverpool did
You are still Baby Thudd

Agreed fantastic player, average manager.

Thing is where would a "step up" have been in the early/mid 80s? Spurs were challenging consistently in the top 5 and only Liverpool and Everton won more trophies than Spurs in that period - Utd and Arsenal were average... Would Hoddle have moved to Merseyside? Can't see him in a Liverpool shirt as they always seemed pretty prejudiced towards flair players from the south (John Barnes excepted).
He only moved to Monaco for a big last pay day and the opportunity to play European football.
As manager I thought he did alright with England, and laid the groundwork at Chelsea, was okay at Saints but struggled at spurs - I can't recall much of his time with Wolves but he wasn't a bad manager by any means.
