Wouldn't it be great to see a proper no-nonsense player come into our club who attacks the ball goalwards with brave headers.
Where have these players gone? Who, in todays game has this trait? Not many, particularly in forward positions outside the Premier League.
Tim Cahill, Didier Drogba, Andy Carroll to name 3 (but all Prem players). But who has it that would come here? From outside the Prem?
No defender likes marking this brave type of player.
For the record, forget Steve Howard. With respect, now lacks pace and energy to get into the box on a regular basis and is also too old, even for this league i think?
Any thoughts anyone?

Why do you need to hoof the ball to a good header of the ball?
Get a decent winger in who can beat players and more importantly, put in a decent cross into the box. Forget the 70-yard punt upfield to the target man. Now that is hoof-ball.

Exactly! Just mentionimg these guys as being decent headers of the ball. We need a Steve Walsh-type header of the ball upfront who, more often than not, gets onto the end of a decent cross.........not a long ball hoof as in Howards situation. We won't win sweet F.A. with a Howard type centre forward with all respect due to the man.........back in the day.
