Yes, a massive part of a mangers job is to motivate and give confidence. However, motivation and confidence ultimately comes from within a person.

In the main the defence has changed. We miss Earnshaw as we could no longer afford him and his form was declining but the defence is our big weak link. Partly McC is at fault for changing the style when the players weren't good enough to adapt. Maybe Cotterill can address that, we do look a little more tough to score against but have let in way too many.

When I think of Davies' time I don't think of us turning teams over I think of us as being workmanlike, tough to beat and tight at the back. He deserves credit as we've had a very limited bunch at the back, Chambers and Morgan are hardly world beaters, I don't see many teams banging our doors down for any of them (or any other players, McGugan, etc either).

A bit too extreme boogaloo, even for a message board. NFFC fans such as Aladdin and Sutton and SRF shouted for ND to go and they got their wish..... now the chickens have come home to roost and it's not a pretty site.

Fingers crossed. Cotterill isn't the only bad manager! I wouldn't be too surprised if Gunter and McGugan went but neither are good enough for the Prem. They're probably the two that can be covered easier here too so hope they both go and good luck to them
