We are not a top 6 club. We do not have the cash to have a squad with good strength in depth. We have lost our 2 best players, have no recognised right backs fit and only 1 terrible left back fit.
What other club of our stature would not be struggling? What manager would be able to do something with squad to stop them shifting goals and playing better. The truth is, we can't replace Chungy or Holden, not even close. How can we be expected to keep clean sheets or not concede with no right backs and a average Championship left back as our only options.
For these reasons, I don't blame Coyle for the lack of movement in the the middle, we've lost half our first choice midfield! I don't blame him for the stupid goals we're conceding either. So many of the goals we've conceded this year have come from crosses. I refer you to this picture:

Showing we have the highest cross conceding rate in the PL. Is that Coyles fault that we have sod all in terms of left backs and right backs.
I've heard many people say about how their fed up of hearing the injury excuse, well I have news for you, it's a pretty big 'effing problem.
I think we were doing alright yesterday until the goal. And unlike many of you, I thought at the time the substitution was a good idea. Hindsight is lovely but there you go. Muamba had misplaced 2 passes which nearly made us concede a couple of minutes earlier, and we needed a goal. At the time, good call.
One final rant, would people stop saying we're down! FFS we have January and half a season to go. We have the chance to change the back 4 in January and should have a few back from injury. Not only has that Bolton "never say die" spirit left some of the players, it's left a fair old few of the fans as well.

As a game I challenge people to name a first 11 defence in TE PL this year that is worse than ours..
From viewing other teams this year there hasn't been an obvious challenger :s

He didnt sign Knight, Robbo, Steinsson who have been the majority of the individual errors.
We couldnt keep clean sheets with these players in their 'peak' years, they obviously are not going to get them now.

As they're still there, it doesn't matter who signed 'em ... they are his players now.

He has since signed Alonso, Mears and Wheater to replace them. Two are injured, and the other is much better but clumsy and rather than give goals away like Knight, gets himself sent off.
They may be his players, but that doesnt stop them from being poor players does it?

He signed Wheater when he thought Cahill was leaving; if Cahill had left when expected, he would have played Wheater and Knight as first choice CB's. Alonso was a buy for the the longer term - that's why, even when he was fit, he couldn't get into the first team; He was unlucky with Mears, but only time will tell if he's any better than what we've already got.
K, R & S aren't world beaters, we know ... but if you're only gettin' 85-90% out of 'em, thru' poor organisation/ tactics/training methods and an inability to motivate players sufficiently to the best of their abilities, they'll perform worse than they really are.
Without adequate leadership, it's difficult for any player to play a full and consistent part; There are some managers out there not only polishin' poo ..they're sendin' out every week absolutely gleaming!!
