We should get Henry on loan

This was missing in earlier seasons. I used to see us doing well and then not make that single move in Jan which could have won us the title. We messed 4 title challenges that way.

And this was the sort of move (Henrik Larsson loan in Jan) which SAF used to make.

Henry may not score much during his couple of month with us but his sheer presence on the field would give us that scoring threat and keep opposing defenses honest.

I am all for this.

Diaby too of course.

So that kind of destroys the first sentence of the article!!

Since joining Arsenal in January 2006, Diaby has made 160 appearances for the club.

That equates to just over 26 appearances per season.

That's appearances, not starts.

I think Henry would be more of a boost than Podolski. For one thing, nobody knows how Podolski would adapt, whereas Henry is tried and true in the Premier League. Besides which, Podolski, although a great player, is still just another player, whereas Henry is an Arsenal legend. All he has to do is set foot on the field on 60 or 70 minutes or so, and the crowd atmosphere changes completely.

It doesn't matter if he's older now - old players never lose their touch. If there was one older player who I'd wish to have cryogenically frozen and brought back for the occasional game, it would be Bergkamp, and he was never really young when he was with us.

trouble is, he's now 34, and has lost his key attribute, his pace.

His skill is worth more than his pace. Remember the wondergoal he scored against United - he didn't even move, just received the ball, flicked it into the air, then turned and lobbed Barthez. He's like Bergkamp in that respect.

RVP is young, and through injury has lost a yard or so, but that hasn't stopped him this year.
