David Luiz

There has been a lot of criticism of David Luiz lately most of which are unjust. Sometimes I do agree with his criticism such as Villa's second goal but Terry was as much at fault for that goal. However it frustrates me that Alan Hansen has to comment on Luiz's performance every week. The majority of the time I've seen him making crucial tackles and interceptions all of which seems to go unnoticed in Hansen's eyes. I think its brilliant when he ventures forward as it adds something to our game but I have noticed recently he has been a lot more cautious and mature about it. He now only does when he knows a run forward is an available option.

This brings me to my next point. It frustrates me that when David Luiz ventures forward he is the devil but when Phil Jones does it he is classed as an intelligent and extraordinary player. Now don't get me wrong, unlike most of the Chelsea fans on this board, I think Phil Jones is class, not better than Smalling yet, but he has masses of potential. However I don't understand why he is not criticized as much as Luiz is. Moreover Lucio, a world cup winning defender, was well noted for the way he runs out of defence. Also Ricardo Carvalho enjoyed running out of defence and he formed a succesful partnership with JT. Pepe does the same. I want to know why Luiz is being made as a scapegoat.
