Criticizing Phil Jones remember one thing - Jones has more goals and assists than your 20m man Stewart Downing.
I still remember the influx of articles from the Merseyside faithful criticising Kenny for not snapping up Jones early before we got to him. Now what happened?
Accept it that Jones is the best young center back there is and 3-4 bad games won't change that. He probably will be the closest thing that comes to Baresi while you will be left frowning upon.

Phil Jones record as a centre back at MU. Played 3 (Blackburn, Basel and Newcastle), goal against 3 in each game. Against Newcastle, he was out jumped by Shola Ameobi who nodded the ball to Ba. Then under no challenge scored a strange own goal. Against Blackburn he was easily beaten by Yakubo for the 2nd goal. He didn’t bother to challenge for the 3rd goal. There was no defence against Basel. All three games MU were very poor defensively as admitted by Ferguson who is not yet convinced to play him as a centre back . The rest of games he played either at right back or in midfield. Because of injuries to their regular and backup CB’s like Vidic, Smalling, Rio and Evans (Yes Evans), Ferguson was forced to move him to his usual or shall I say unusual centre half position. Jones has got a good engine and nothing more just like many other overrated English players like Walcott, Parker and Rodwell.

Wasn't it actually, best, young and in the premiership... Can't think of a defender in England his age that is better...
Compare him to Savic and Boyata maybe ?
One of the Chelsea youngsters ?
That Miquel at Arsenal ?
Someone else... maybe I am missing someone obvious around Jones' age...
By the way Baresi was actually Capello... 0/2 isn't bad though... better than 0/3.

2 own goals and 2 goals in the right end. So that is still 2 goals more than the £20 million pound man.... and not a huge amount off the £35 million pound man...

In fairness Drogba is a pretty damn good player and Carroll a shocking one, so a fair bit more embarrassing than the England manager making comparisons...
Pele is overrated anyway... but not quite that bad TOOR.
