Maybe the criticism is harsh. Its his decision making that isnt great.

On a serious note: why didn't Jones just kick the ball out instead of using his head to give it back to the keeper. It made no sense whatsoever!

Probably because he is 19 and isn't thefinished article as yet
I was not expecting him to make any kind of impact this season at all being so young coming to United.
He's exceeded my expectations by a country mile.

From watching the slow motion replays all I could think was that Jones expected the ball to bounce a lot higher than it actually did....
As it happened it would have been easier for him to swing a leg at it but he must have thought it was coming up to about chest height.
It is a bad mistake but one that is easy enough to make, I have done it a fair few times, though I am not a professional footballer.

Jones is the best young defender in the country, without a doubt.
We'd be blind not to admit it, he still had a mare last night. Stewart Downing is also one of the best left wingers in the country, he is also having a mare this season.
