Don't know if anybody has noticed the perception of Spurs has markedly changed over the last few games ........
Up until Christmas the talk show callers regardless of who they followed would all more or less say the same thing ...."City will win the title . United 2nd with the others fighting it out for 3rd and 4th" .......Now all we hear is City will probably win it , United and Spurs fighting for 2nd and 3rd with United favs for 2nd......This is not just from fans of the three clubs mentioned but Pool , Arsenal and Chelsea fans actually saying that the best they can hope for is a 4th place finish and that's going to be a battle , after last night the Toon fans have their bravado back and are talking Europa or maybe even getting 4th
Mancini has followed in S.A.F footsteps and has come out and said it's now only concerns 3 teams .............
So fellow Spurs fans are you like me rather chuffed at the praise or do we really want to hide in the shadows and ambush them on the winning line ???
Oh BTW on the betting front we are now being quoted at between 1/4 and 1/5 for a CL place with Chelsea at 4/6 . Arsenal at Evens and Pool 2/1 ...The two Manchester clubs are 1/100 apprx

Levy knows we have to strengthen the squad.
A killer forward in particular.
Obviously he will use the 2010/11 CL benchmark (40m odd) as the revenuse Spurs could bring in purely on football.

I may get shouted down, but I think we missed a trick in the summer when John O'Shea went to Sunderland for single figures millions.
United fans didn't want to see him go. He could play both full back positions and holding midfield well to the extent that in being cover for those positions he had one of the highest number of appearances at united for the few seasons.
I agree a utility player is vital, taking up one place on the bench/in the 25 man squad who can play well (not just averagely) across a range of positions.
I thought Pienaar would be that player in attack, but it hasn't happened that way. The closest we have is Kaboom.

Another advantage of Lennon playing is, Walker comes alive down the flank as well. He's been quite quiet since to be honest.

Chicken
Just a theory, but both our full backs get exposed when Bale and VDV decide to play centrally, because then they are the only wide attacking option and hence are marked by the full back and the winger (sometimes). When Lennon and Walker are both options, the defence and winger don't know what the hell to do and we more often than not get a cross in. Bale being out wide also hides the fact that BAE can't cross for sheet!
