Its true but saying that the media are fickle.

We lost 2 on the trot and everyone would write us off immediately.

I certainly don't think it's a 3 horse race, most pundits are short sighted and forget how much can happen in half a season, which is strange considering they played the game. You're obviously in the driving seat though.

Lennon is an important player for us , G&S is quite right about Lenn helping us to play the shape which suits us best

I'm loving the optimism surrounding the team but it is still fragile as we are only half way through the season. Late Jan to March will tell us, and the now cooing media, how strong our squad really is and what sort of challenge to Manchester we can actually provide.

For me I just want to see CL football again next season so we hang onto our current squad and make a potentially make a couple of signings that could really make us into title challengers next season.

1 step at a time.

8bit ...Yeah agree to an extent but it's the bookies views that are the most important as they reflect the feelings of the many as opposed to the pundits personal view

Personally I like being overhyped because then it refrains from so many of my friends trying to make stupid digs at how much my team sucks blah blah blah.

However proving them wrong by beating AC Milan was rather satisfying

Levy knows we have to strengthen the squad.
A killer forward in particular.

Obviously he will use the 2010/11 CL benchmark (40m odd) as the revenuse Spurs could bring in purely on football.

I may get shouted down, but I think we missed a trick in the summer when John O'Shea went to Sunderland for single figures millions.

United fans didn't want to see him go. He could play both full back positions and holding midfield well to the extent that in being cover for those positions he had one of the highest number of appearances at united for the few seasons.

I agree a utility player is vital, taking up one place on the bench/in the 25 man squad who can play well (not just averagely) across a range of positions.

I thought Pienaar would be that player in attack, but it hasn't happened that way. The closest we have is Kaboom.

King arry, O shea is a good shout.
Think we missed out there

Another advantage of Lennon playing is, Walker comes alive down the flank as well. He's been quite quiet since to be honest.
