Expectations

As im sure you will all know, we have United at the weekend.

With the dingles beating United in their last home game, and newcastle also beating united in their last league game, do any of you think we can expect to get anything from the game at all?

It could go two ways IMO:
1. Take the win at city as a big positive, regain confidence and give us a right beating
OR
2. Get complacent and think we'll be a "walk in the park" which gives us an outside chance of getting something.

Ideas?

I'll be watching in the pub in Bury.

I am not a glory hunter, I have a huge dong and due to damage to my facial nerve a few years ago, I can't wink!

I dont care your watching it in the pub, your a Bolton lad through and through who supports his local team AND goes to games

That was 2 years ago and Burnley were at home, relegation must be affecting your mental faculties.

Is your immediate boss a United or Villa fan?

Villa.

Didn't get too much stick when they beat us last month as he was "too shocked they actually won"

The key to this one is to literally just pack our own box with 8 players and then see what N'Gog and Mavies can chase down and create on their own. This is what Blackburn did and the sheer number of bodies (however useless they are) caused problems for United. They aren't as free flowing and good on the ball as they used to be and no longer have the midfielders to pick out a man even if they're marked by 4 players. Blackburn managed it with 3 youth players in their back 4 so let's just hope Owen was watching and tries the same.

It does confuse me that Blackburn are called Dingles.. It's clearly Burnley that have that nickname..

The only connection to Blackburn is that Burnley and their ground use a Blackburn Post Code because of the small size of town it is...

Anyway, I expect nothing from the United game. That way, I can't be disappointed.

Well we're not by anyone other than you lot. I assume the term has just been generalised now into being used by any club who considers its rivals to be a bit more backward than them. West Brom and Birmingham use it for Wolves now too. As usual with football fans the original point has been missed, which is that Emmerdale is exactly the type of insular Yorkshire village Burnley get much of their support from. It is quite annoying to come up with a name designed specifically describe your rivals, and then have it absurdly applied to you.

Anyway I wouldn't expect your pie-eating egg chasers to understand
