Yaya is the modern day Patrick Vieira

I find it a bit embarrassing to see these players coming back after retiring/playing in a second rate 'soccer' league..... so it's a no for me. Patrick is a great ambassador for City, lets keep it that way

if anything he should go back to Arsenal, Patrick is a gunner not a blue

Some City fans have been critical of Yaya of late.

To me, he's perhaps our most important player. And we will miss him.

Whenever I come here I always see Yaya taking stick and I never understand why. He is the best CM in England for me.

Batmanu, the criticism that Yaya receives is similar to that which Bergcamp used to receive in that he was a great player for 70 minutes of the game then was completely knackered. The problem for Wenger then was should he or shouldnt he substitute him because even in those last 20 minutes he could get on the end of a ball and change a match.
Similar with Yaya and Mancini, should he keep him on in tight games because he can produce something special or change him for a fresh pair of legs?
The stick comes from fans who see he's taking longer to recover from those runs from box to box as the game progresses and Mancini refusing to take off a potential match winner. Personally I agree with Mancini, you keep on a winner unless the match is completely stitched up.

Yaya frustrates me. He's like Johnson, he doesn't do the basics well enough when we don't have the ball.

He is lethargic tracking back, and his marking is so poor. Playing Chelsea the back four (especially Kompany and Clichy) looked very uncomfortable due to Yaya not covering the space.

I don't believe his stamina is a problem, I just feel he needs a while to recharge after shifting his huge frame on one of his 50 yard charges.

Yaya is a very important player for us, our midfield is the heartbeat of our side.

With that midfield and strike force City are a better force than any team in the league.

Yaya can be frustrating, but he is the pace that lets City attack so quick from defence to attack, if you watch Yaya closely and see the passes he finds, I would say 70% of his passes go to Silva, which in turn means Silva can link the play to Aguero and Mario, and if the Silva pass is not on he breaks forward with his own pace and finds the through ball himself.

Yaya in our team links our defence to attack, which is why he plays so much.

He will be missed greatly, but at the same time if we want to be a championship winning side we have to learn to adapt without Yaya and Silva so that when one/both are missing we still have strength in attack.

Mancini hasnt made to many mistakes as our boss, but I feel that he should have tested the team a bit more without these two players so it is easier to adapt if they are missing.

At the same time, his job may be riding on us winning the league this season, in which case if any of us were in Mancini's position we would play Yaya and Silva in every PL match.

Shaun, it reminds me of Mascherano - Alonso - Gerrard of Liverpool under Benitez, they all fit in so nicely together, and swapping Mario with Aguero I agree that is our strongest side.

I just wish Yaya could have Dejong-like discipline sometimes, but hey, noone is perfect.

He could have De Jong like Discipline but then if he did he probably wouldn't have gone charging forward and won us that penalty against Liverpool. add to that the amount of times he has created chances/goals from his marauding runs.

i agree sometimes he can be a little lethargic, and I question his tracking back when he is in the advanced midfield role (when he is DM he is solid), but at the end of the day he is a big game player generally, and when it comes to crunch time you can guarantee he will come up with the goods, you only have to look at the semi final and final of last season to justify that.

I agree, he just frustrates me a lot of the time for the reasons mentioned. Every team is scared of him.
