Is Kenny's Legacy Being Ruined?

Is anyone else starting to feel slightly disappointed with Kenny?
I know I am. I realise this is a building process. 'Rome wasn't built in a day' is a common saying. However, how much time are we willing to give Dalglish to 'work his magic'. We now have brilliant owners (something we previously didn't have) and a massive transfer budget (also something we didn't have). We had an entire January window to improve our squad and had an even bigger summer to tweak. And I'm not sure some of his decisions have been spot on.
For me, the tactics were woeful today. Carroll and kuyt are just not good enough. If they can't score against Stoke at Anfield, then what chance have they got to fire us into the top 4? Don't get me wrong, I do still hope and believe that we can achieve that top 4 and realise I'm sounding very negative. In fact, it's these kind articles I usually rate 1 star and give the OP and earful.
I do feel positive toward Kenny, and even after a poor result, I'd still be behind him. The trouble is, this was what I did with Roy. And how did that work out? I constantly feel that if Roy had the results Kenny is having, we'd all go for the axe.
The only reason I can think of us keeping Kenny is because of history. No football fan needs reminding of what this man has produced. He truly is a football legend. Obviously if he came back, we'd accept him with open arms. However, this reminds me of Keegans stint with Newcastle. Keegan manages the Geordies and has a fierce rivalry with AF. Then in 2008 or near about, he comes back. The Geordie faithful were beaming with joy. But, his results were poor. The fans still got behind him and said 'if he done it once, he'll do it again'. A few months later, Kevin is sacked.
We shouldn't be blinded by Kenny's past. We get wummed as that's all we talk about. I will follow Kenny until the end, however, I feel our only chance of top 4 is reappointing Rafa. I really do.
(I'm not sure if this was through bitterness of the result, or my conscious coming clean)

THE WHOLE BLOODY TEAM SHOULD HAVE BEEN BENCHED

Apparently a lot of Liverpool supporters will tell anyone who will listen how far Dalglish has taken your club forward. How much better off you are.
Now,excuse me but you are playing some of the worst football you have played in a few years, he has absolutely wasted a fortune on average talent (Irrelevant where the money came from, its still a WASTE), you are currently lying 6th and possibly 7th if Newcastle win their game in hand.
You played a flat back 9 last week, two CBs at home against Stoke ffs!
So tell me, where exactly are you better off than last season? I know you had more points from less games this season but you are still teetering around 6th/7th, same a last January.
Carroll is not going to be a saviour, Downing is poor, Henderson is an also ran and Adam is a squad player.
Just imagine the players you could have got for that £85M he has blown.

I think you will win the league cup this season and finish 5 or 6 this season which will be a v good season. You badly need another another striker - 24 goals in matches is not good enough. I think you will be challenging for 3 or 4 palce next season. I dont think Charlie Adam is good enough either and Kuyt has been a great servant but is not good enough.

Well you are going over the top here really.

We only played a 'flat back 9' lol after we were 1 up away at City. We also played MUCH worse under Hodgson and in Rafas final year, in fact in a lot of games this year we have been playing really well, but have missed our chances.

Today was a real disappointment though with the way we set out. We really did look as though we were looking for a draw, and we clearly need a striker, and arguably an adaptable player like Van Der Vaart and a cover DM until Lucas returns.

I also don't think Carroll was ever brought in to be the 'saviour'. He is a forward, not a striker, and has been judged unfairly as being a guy who will get 20 goals a season, he won't and nor should we expect him to. We need to bring in someone else to tuck them away.

I agree Adam is a squad player, and that is what he plays as, and certainly will with Lucas and Gerrard both fit, so what's your point??

Henderson is young and will improve, but again like Carroll, is being unfairly judged based on his inflated price tag.

The difference between this January and last January is bar a few games this season we have consistently been the better team, even with a whole host of new players trying to gel, but have just been wasteful in front of goal, whilst last season we were just awful, and every game we looked like we deserved nothing, and until Dalglish took over we pretty much got nothing.

We have made progress, and we can also afford to buy whoever these days, so we will only get better, but it's clear we need to take it to the next level now.

What do you think will be a optimum final table position with these players and no additions?

If I'm honest and we don't look to improve on the attacking front then I don't think our great defence will matter one bit.

We will end up in 5th I believe right now if we don't invest this window. I think we will beat Arsenal as they always fall off in the second half of the table, they don't have enough 'bite' really, and we are always a much better team in the second half of the season, so 5th is very realistic.

The worry for fourth is that Spurs are doing so well, and even i they drop off a bit, which I think they will, they have so many points on the board already that they look set for a top four place, which leave Chelsea.

Chelsea are obviously under-par right now and it will be interesting to who is signed this window, and whether AVB keeps his job or not, but you should really have enough quality to get over the line for 4th this season if teams stay as they are, Chelsea were the best team in the second half of the season last season which is a worry.

I would say it will come down to a contest between Liverpool and Chelsea for 4th with Chelsea as the favourites, but it could depend a lot on who is bought in this window.

Quick question, why are you completely ignoring Arsenal who are ahead of you guys and with a game in hand?

I'm assuming you're an Arsenal supporter?. I'm not ignoring you at all, I just think that in recent history Arsenal have had a tendency to waste good positions in the latter stages of the season.

They may prove me wrong, but I do think there is an over-reliance on Van Persie and if he gets injured I think Arsenal may struggle. Just my opinion.

No I'm not an Arsenal supporter, just curious why you weren't considering them as rivals for 4th spot. Considering the really poor start that they had to the season they've done well to get back into contention.
