Keegan walked he wasn't sacked

Let's give Kenny credit for stabilising us, especially at the back. He hasn't chosen well up front with Carroll and this needs to be addressed either in the window or at the end of the season. We need a top striker to work alongside Suarez.

We might need a change of tactis at home along the lines of a 3-5-2 that seemed successful when Kenny first came in but was suicidal away from home or play a counter-attack system at home drawing the opposition into our half but then we break quickly to stop teams just defending at Anfield.

There must be a realisation that we need to invest in the right areas this January while we have the chance.

We can't go on playing such defensive football at home and settle for a point, we will not get fourth that way, and we will therefore not attract the best players, and therefore won't reach the heights we want to reach.

Surely this is a great opportunity to realise that we are weak going forward, and to invest now. If Kenny doesn't and we lose out of fourth and have to wait until the summer to invest then yes I think a lot of pressure will mount on Kenny.

In truth Steve Clarke deserves most of that credit.

I made a similar article mwhich you may not like but i just think that kenny is lstaying in the job because of whqt he did before. He is in no way a good tactitician. Steve Clarke can be thanked for us not being further down as he has worked magic with our defence.

Suarez would've been the difference today!

That's the trouble, with him out we are obviously short of quality upfront. I hope Kenny realises the need to invest this window now.

Truetored

This doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. All the money spent and we still need to rely on one player who has the worst conversion rate in the premier league.
We need a foreign super star. I will actually tell kenny to walk if he signs bent.

we should cut our losses on carrol. He'll never fit in.

Unless things go really pear shaped I would at least give Kenny until the end of the season. I know he got his tatics wrong today but he usually gets them right ie we have dominated the majority of games we have played this season. However we just cant finish our chances and our play as a result in the final 3rd is frankly a long long way from being good enough. This is down to poor transfers (Downing and Carroll) unless they suddenly turn good (unlikely) or Kenny buys a proper goalscorer we wont get any higher than 6th. Not sure about Rafa, yes I know his hand were tied by H a G but he too got many of his transfers wrong. Also many people often critised him for being too cautious attimes and it has been nice to see us playing good football under Kenny and I dont want us to lose that attacking intent by changing managers. Overall Kenny simply must by an attacker in January and must get his transfers rights. Poor transerfers have cost us so very dearly in the last 20 years. Its time to put that right.

Kenny deserves a hell of a lot of criticism and I don't expect he will be on the Job at the start of next season

I can see Rafa coming back in the summer if Kenny doesnt get us 4th. Americans are ruthless when it comes to their investment, legend or not

Bent has scored goals wherever he plays. He isn't 'in vogue' and never has been but his record speaks for itself.

It's all good talking statistics.
Downing created the most chances and was renound for assisting last season.
What has he done here. Score 1 goal and slapped his ex.

I wonder what it would take to get Cavani??!!

It wont happen as we dont have CL football, Luuk De jong etc are more realistic options

Swap Bent with Carroll and get in Shaquiri and Zaha...

Sometimes Kenny does bamboozle me with his tactics. Today was strange to say the least. By the time half an hour of the game had gone you could see that Stoke were not going to be a great attacking threat, so we should have gone more on the offensive.
As for bringing Carroll on, and taking Downing off who could possibly have been a supply of balls to Carroll. That really is senseless to me. It would have made more sense to bring one of the defenders off.
maybe it is simple and I am missing something here, but if you are going to use Carroll, keep the players on who can supply the crosses.

Yeah that was a big shame, he could've been a very useful player. We should look at Christian Erikkson

Agree Red_Led, makes no sense taking Downing off to bring Carroll on.
Kuyt should have made way/

Apparently a lot of Liverpool supporters will tell anyone who will listen how far Dalglish has taken your club forward. How much better off you are.
Now,excuse me but you are playing some of the worst football you have played in a few years, he has absolutely wasted a fortune on average talent (Irrelevant where the money came from, its still a WASTE), you are currently lying 6th and possibly 7th if Newcastle win their game in hand.
You played a flat back 9 last week, two CBs at home against Stoke ffs!
So tell me, where exactly are you better off than last season? I know you had more points from less games this season but you are still teetering around 6th/7th, same a last January.
Carroll is not going to be a saviour, Downing is poor, Henderson is an also ran and Adam is a squad player.
Just imagine the players you could have got for that £85M he has blown.
