Steve Kean

I am writing this from a position of someone who doesn't like Steve Kean. I am also writing this from the position of someone who has no affiliation to Blackburn, thus I will freely admit right now that I do not know, or even comprehend what you Blackburn fans are feeling right now about the direction in which you feel the club you love is going.

To me, the fans are the heartbeat of any club. Be it United, Barcelona, or Halifax or Rochdale. They are the people who will be there, irrespective of who owns (or indeed manages) the club. Irrespective of who wears the shirt that fans have so much pride in. I totally understand the Blackburn fans' protests in recent weeks, and by the very same token, I do not understand why people have been critical of Blackburn fans who have been so very vocal in expressing their dissatisfaction in regards to what is happening at the club. That, to me, is a right that fans have earned. And they have every right to be vocal about it.

If it doesn't sit well with pundits, outside agencies, etc, well then that is their problem.

But having said all of that, we hear that the likes of Samba has had enough - that he, as a player, can't take it anymore. He wants out. Well from a fans perspective, what's new about that? If all was well at Blackburn, if everyone was pulling in the same direction, the likes of Samba may well still want out, especially if a bid from a bigger club comes along. So nothing new there then.

For me, the problem isn't Steve Kean per se. The problem is the fact that Steve Kean (allegedly) played a huge part in getting a very good manager out of a job in order to serve his own means. That is despicable, even if a common occurance in a professional environment. The problem also lies in the willingness of the current owners to allow such a scenario to happen, while at the same time coming across as indifferent towards a manager who has failed so miserably during his tenure in charge up to date.

Yes, Blackburn find themselves out of the relegation places tonight. But Blackburn deserve better than such a temporary "highlight" that being in 17th position is affording them at this moment in time. Kean will no doubt feel that Blackburn have turned a corner, but I'm not so sure. His record at the club is appalling, and I simply cannot get past the notion that an owner would sack someone when they had a much better record yet keep faith with a person who has a much worse record. That defies all logic to me. Doesn't make any sense.

The Talented Mr Ripley, thanks for your understanding and support for our grand little club!

Ripley- if you were applying for a job as an editor of a newspaper, a reporter or to join the Managers Association this would be a resounding failure. You can't say these type of things.

However as a decent person/ fan who understands exactly how other decent people/fans perceive the problems at Rovers, it would be a resounding success.

I'll give credit where it is due- I expected Fulham to turn us over after the sending off- the points were most welcome. If he follows this up with say two wins and a draw in the next four games I might be tempted to feel our fortunes are changing for the better.

Deep down I think I realise Kean is not the major problem at Rovers. Even if Big Sam had stayed I think he would have moved on of his own volition by now given the way the owners are 'running' the club.

Unfortunately we have no Billionaire residents of Blackburn that support the club.

Birmingham fan in peace. Just wanted to say well done for today and getting out of the bottom 3 . Im a great admirer of some of your players .Pedersen .Yak and of course Dunn who was with us for a while .Not sure what to make of your owners but at least they are not going to prison like ours eh .Lastly a big up to your manager who through all the demos has kept his dignity and carried on with his job in a proffesional manner ,Good luck for the rest of the season

You should get your best player sent off in every game, you may win more often.

Thank you Mr Cat. That was a refreshingly good article from a non-Rover. Five shiny ones from me.

Your entire sentamentalist sloshbucket of an argument is based on a bit of tenuous gossip that you then dress up as fact

Blackburn Steve Kean

By the end of the season Blackburn fans will be offering their wives, girlfirnds and boyfriends to the man as gifts for saving them. And if I were Steve Kean the only response is..

Look at the last 4 games; won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 (league that is). This is not relegation form.
Maybe it is time to be less negative.

Check out the brave man with no name. Nice constructive addition to the thread!

I do like Blackburn, and have so much respect for the Walker dream, In very much the same way I like Whelan and Wigan. I find the whole scenario a bit sad to be honest.

On the bright side, you don't need to be successful to be happy, you just need to be proud of your club. Some of my favourite memories of supporting City are as simple as Paul Dickov nailing a shot straight at a guy making his way back to his seat with a ton of chips he had lovingly queued an age for.

I know its a bit rich for me to say at the moment (pardon the pun), but it will get better, it has to!
