After the defensive frailties on show at the Barnsley game, it's obvious that we miss Sol big time for his passion, defensive headers, tackling, etc. For me, except for PS, he has been the man of the match every time I seen the City play, I can't understand why he gets criticised on this forum.
Do we know when they pick the 23 man squads for the African Nations Cup, I know it's unlikely but I hope Sol's not in the squad and he returns to us as soon as possible.
We miss Sol Bamba

But hang on some of our more inspired fans think he's no good despite starting for his country and its all star team!

We do miss him badly and it's been a real blow to lose him when we have. What we need more than anything is consistency in defence, and we were just starting to get that when Sol left. People have criticised Mills and I'll admit that he hasn't exactly been wonderful so far, but he's had to play alongside every man and his dog in defence this season and I can't help feeling that he'll be so much better when he's built up a consistent partnership and understanding with his fellow CB. It did start to seem like he and Sol were finally starting to communicate with each other, whereas the communication with Tunch was laughable against Barnsley, especially when they both let Vaz Te through without tackling
Bamba's been starting for Ivory Coast so I'd imagine he'll make their final squad, which is a shame for us but fantastic for him. Let's hope they get knocked out quickly and he's back with us ASAP!

It occurred to me during the Barnsley match that the midfield's lack of tracking back had been exposed by Bamba's absence: Maybe he wins so many tackles that he has no right to that the midfield are constantly let off the hook by him.
As a side point, maybe the argument that the defence looks weak because they're unsure about Bamba can be put to bed now...
P.S. I assume you mean KS rather than PS?

We lack pace at the back without SB and, believe it or not, creativity going forward. At least he's prepared to pick up the bal and drive forward.

By this argument, if we win our next game does that mean we don't miss him?
Sorry, but a centre-half he ain't.

Thanks Dungeon Master, I did mean KS not PS, for some reason, can't think why, I thought his name was "Peter"

I don't think it's Bamba we're missing. It's more down to the lack of fight, confidence, cohesion, balance and in some cases ability!!!
That said, whilst I don't rate Bamba as highly as some on here and would swap him for a more solid centre back, he is the best (after Mills) of what we have. We can't rely on Tunchev's fitness any more.
