Thrashing and being thrashed:

why is it, in the recent times, we are seeing more one-sided match?
Look at Australia thrashing India.
Pakistan thrashing England today.
South Africa twice thrashing Srilanka and once thrashed themselves.
South Africa thrashing Australia in the 1st test.
England thrashing India.
India thrashing West-Indies.
England thrashing Australia?
In the last 2 years, although test match cricket with more balance between bat and ball, has been of the highest quality ,but Its a bit surprising that whenever a team wins it wins by a large margin and again the same team lose by large margin.
Where did all the thrashing and thrashed game started?
Competitive win ,I can only remember that Australia v South africa 2nd test and Australia vs Newzealand 2nd test.

P.S. I would take them over high scoring draws on dead track anyday...
and Test match cricket has been the most entertaining in recent times.
Thanks to the renaissance of the bowlers, fast bowlers especially.
Even India has got one muscular fast bowler.
Good time to be a Test cricket fan.

But just take a look at how the batsman of today are getting out in comparrison to 10-20-30 years ago....you would never see an opener dabbing outside off stump or putting the ball into the stands at all besides before lunch on day one....

I can see it getting even worse when todays 15 year olds know no better. In our local park cricket where a match is played over 2 consecutive Sat. there is talk of scrapping it for one day games where they can then have the 2 teams batting on the one day in order to shorten the competition to give them spare weeks at seasons end for 20/20 bash-thons.....it's all down hill from here..IMO

I assume its back to the old days where the home team invariably holds a BIG ADVANTAGE.Only visiting teams have been subjected to the thrashing u have referred.

do you realise that in the last ashes series...Australia were the home team?

Can I also add, I also missed SouthAfrica been outclassed in one of the test at home against Srilanka.

But IMO, the latest trend is that subcontinental teams will be very difficult to beat at home but atleast 2 of them will be lambs abroad and vice versa for England and Australia.

Rabbitohs
Just I was about to start disliking you for your Anglophobia you come out with some really good points, if I am honest I am slightly disappointed that I agree with you. Still, a good point well made.

testi, the way you continually phase the achievements of the England cricket team is as if they have been winning for years and years......give us a break it is wonderful what they have done but it has only been the last 10minutes or so that they have been this good.... anyone would think you were brought up with England being 1st glass....unless you are only very very young of course.....like 2...

You have lost me now. I meerly said that the last time we played away from home we destroyed australia Winning by an innings on 3 occasions and if my memory serves me right, we took your bowlers apart ( the same ones now playing against India) and at one point we made just over 1000 runs for the loss of five wickets. Lambs? not us

Come on neon that's not fair.......England don't wish to discuss the one day format.
Leave your comments until they start winning and it then will promote discussion....until then it is off limits do you hear....
