Is anyone else seriously addicted to Football Manager 2012 on the PC.
The thrill of winning League 1 with Sheffield Wednesday with loanees such as David Goodwillie up front and Stockdale in goal.
Im now finishing my 5th season at the club and have 38 year old Frank Lampard running the show in midfield.
Many players who are coming good in real life are players that I found 3 years ago on football manager (granted the game sent me in their direction).
This leads me to think why dont real footballl scouts use Football Manager to find players, or even hire the football manager researchers as their scouts because they do a fantastic job of highlighting future stars that actually come good in real life. Iv heard Harry Redknapp is a fan of the game.
Has anyone else found themselves finding gems before they become good in real life?

Sounds like having a gf....
=====================
FM has seriously affected my relationship with my girlfriend. I actually have very little time for her ha.
I find it hard to believe that a club like Everton has a little geeky boy in the corner playing Champ and saying ''oooo I found a wonderkid'

they don't need to 'play' it, they just use the database from the game.

Well wheres the fun it that! - also it annoys me when I here people use the editor to bettr players or restart matches if they lose. Changing stats completely alters the balance of the game and restarting takes off the gloss off anything you earn!

I think he is talking about the clubs using it rather than people cheating...

I have been playing Football manager, or Champ manager as the originals were called, since 1992 on the Amiga. Used to ave the vidi printer like in the old days.
This game and me are part of one another. I have not got 2012 as I am in my 34th season on 09. I bloody love it!

I know, I just got side tracked!
I would love to play the old versions, but the new one comes with more ways to score goals... more diverse questioning, sleeker feel etc..

My gems from FM 2012 for a championship / mid table prem club:
Fode Koita - free in second season
David Goodwillie - loan then purchase
David Stockdale - loan then purchase
Bulot - not sure if he is a regen
Talalgoma or something like that.

@Diego, I stopped playing around the second Championship Manager 3 (the seasonal update I mean).
It was last year when I started playing the CM 01/02 as it had been my favourite and then I found the updates for it.
I find the newer games to be overcomplicated, stuff like half-time teamtalks were very monotonous. I like the simplicity of buying/selling, picking a team etc.

am on seriously thin ice on fm11 at the moment. became manager of united and basically sold most of the first team squad (rooney and Chica refuse to leave though, same as scholes and giggs) but I am playing younger players only such as:-
de gea
twins
Jones
smalling
hazard
dzagoev
lukaku
etc.. but I won 1 game out of the first 10 (charity shield against chelsea) all other matches I have lost and David Gill is getting restless...
