Having followed this the past few days there has been one thing that has bothered me about it. Apparently people in the jury were vetted to make sure that none of them supported the affiliated clubs of Redknapp and Mandric for fear of it affecting the decision against them. Yet the judge residing on the case is apparently a Arsenal fan. That's like having Matthew Hopkins the witchfinder general trying you for witchcraft. Probably find out most of the jury are Chelsea and City fans. In general though if he is found guilty I can't see anything more than a large fine and a suspended sentence with this one.

With this case the maximum penalty is a suspended sentence of around 12-18 months.
However based on very similar cases im certainHarry will get a fine (easily payable to him) and warned about his financial conduct.
He cannot be sentenced for a prison term at all it is not possible!!!

look like modric-life begins again
I'm afraid it is very possible - considering the amount of time he's avoided tax, and pleaded not guilty. Unlikely, but definitely a possibility

Bearing in mind the sum that should have been paid in tax, which is around £100,000 then the sentencing guidelines are much higher, more like 4-6 years in prison if mitigating facts are not good enough.
The fact he is pleading not guilty also has a bearing if he is found guilty and also how premediated the evasion was.
So not sure where you got 12-18 months suspended from.

Here's the best outcome:
Harry's found guilty and given a suspended and a fine. This gives the FA cold feet and they give the job to Roy Hodgson. Harry appeals and the verdict is overturned about a couple of weeks after Roy starts his new job.

Its all my fault, if only I had given him better advise

It's not your fault - he's been lying to you for years!

I can't see how the amount owed should affect the length of sentance.
If I was to owe £100k in tax that means that I probably haven't paid tax for something like a decade. Yet for someone like Rooney it could just be a week.
It would be easy to make an error on tax for a weeks money than it would for a decade.

12-18 months suspended.
You're wrong.
He can get anything from 6 months to 1 year in prison. It definitely cannot be suspended, if thats the case Lester Piggot would have got a suspended sentence for tax evasion..he served 13 months of a 3 year sentence.

Lester Piggot failed to declare £3.25m in earning.....that is serial tax evasion, and not just a one off.
Harry may have deliberately stuck that money away (yet to be proved) but he will have paid millions in tax that same year...so a one off!
