First things first I think we're agreed that the worst thing that could have happened last night was extra time and a bunch of hamstings and red cards.
Richards was very unlucky but your defenders did not react well at all. Our lads went up as one screaming for a pen and Dowd thought that the ball flew straight onto Richards hand. You would have given Dowd a headache if de Jong and co. had told him that it hit his boot first.
As for Dzeko. Nailed on pen but where was the appeal? I reckon if you'd rushed Dowd he would have given it.
Rooney on the Kompany red card, once again a great appeal.
I dont understand Mancini's suggestion that the ref is on the pitch to decide. Referees have always been influenced by a good dive and a good scream.
Its not right but its Premier League 2012.

We never crowd the refs, sorry.

Once there was a referee at Old Trafford who saw Spurs score a long distance shot that crossed the line by a foot.
But after speaking to his linesman he decided to rule it out!
...and that linesman was Mark Clattenburg the man who thought Rooney's elbow on McCarthy was accepatable and sent Bellamy off for "being annoying".

This is how it's done.

So basically the OP was well of the mark and City do crowd referees and complain... just like Liverpool do as well... as well as United do...
So basically all clubs are horrible... is this the point ?

=============
The point is that referees play a massive part in the destination of trophies and they can be influenced by how you react to them.
Fouling a player and then walking away while spitting on the ground and saying "have some of that" is going to get you a red.
Picking him up, smiling and apologising to the ref is going to be just a free kick.

I think every football fan knows this.
