Rooney on the Kompany red card, once again a great appeal.
........................

The great appeal mostly consisted of Rooney turning to the ref and holding up two fingers to indicate it was two footed... saw much bigger appeals from City turned down in the Liverpool game...

Mancini doesn't usually shy away from giving his opinions on how decisions should go either...

Exactly! A great appeal.
Theres no way that would even have been a free kick let alone a red if it had not been for Rooney's clever inquiry.

We appealed when Phil Jones handled the ball in the FA Cup but no penalty.

We appealed when Skrtyl handled the ball in the 1st leg of the Carling Cup but the ref wasn't interested.

We appealed when Assou-Ekotto blocked a cross with his arm when we played Spurs in the league. Again no penalty.

We obviously need a specialist appeals coach.

Yep you do! And one to teach you how to get out of jail.

Lampard getting out of a straight red against Wolves was a work of art.
He jumped up, put his hand out to apologise, nodded his head in agreement, went over to help the player, then went to the ref and patted him on the arm saying it was an accident.

There's no point appealing when the ref pulls out the card or when he calls a foul/penalty. It's so stupid that footballers keep doing that, you can never change a ref's mind once it's made up.

Yeah sure, the ref thought good tackle and then saw Rooneys two fingers and straight away changed his mind...

You conspiracy theorists crack me up...

IF he's wrong and six of you rush him he will normally go to the linesman for a chat.
And if that had happened last night he might not have given it.

Play had continued until Rooney got involved. Watch it again.

What a load of carp, no ref makes a decision then changes their mind after going to the linesman. They go to the linesman to help with their decision first you bitter fool.

Yes for the split second between Kompanys lunge and the ref blowing his whistle Rooney managed to stick two fingers up to indicate a two footed challenge. It takes longer to put a whistle to your mouth than it does to stick two fingers up, common sense mate.

And if my memory serves me correctly, Richards and 5 other City players marched their backsides towards the ref to plead with him to change his mind. But I didn't see Dowd go towards the linesman to check if his decision was correct or not Because your point states that the whole squad should complain to the ref so they can talk to the linesman about the decision. City did that yesterday to Dowd, and Richards was still moaning after at half time when they was going towards the dug out. But Dowd didn't talk to the linesman even with a crowd of City players.

Why are you so polite? Are you lonely?

Once there was a referee at Old Trafford who saw Spurs score a long distance shot that crossed the line by a foot.
But after speaking to his linesman he decided to rule it out!

First things first I think we're agreed that the worst thing that could have happened last night was extra time and a bunch of hamstings and red cards.

I didn't realise pigs were equipped with stingers.... ouch!!!!!!

To be fair, you seem to have some sort of obsession with refs and Manchester United. You seem to think we're the only team that crowd the ref, when many sides do the same as City done it yesterday when the penalty was called.

Are you claiming goal line decisions haven't been called before? Look at England and Germany in the world cup, and most importantly Tottenham and Chelsea last season at SB. The ball never went over the line but it was called as a goal. The world cup the ball did go over the line but was it called? Nope!

What are you on about?
This is about how City should have crowded the ref more to get a decision.
Unless you think United have history of crowding refs? Do they?

...and that linesman was Mark Clattenburg the man who thought Rooney's elbow on McCarthy was accepatable and sent Bellamy off for "being annoying".
