'Sunderland are making a £1.5million move for Bolton skipper Kevin Davies.
Black Cats chief Martin O'Neill, who has lost on-loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner to a facial injury for several games , wants to take advantage of the fact Davies has lost his regular place in Owen Coyle’s side.
O’Neill needs an old-fashioned number nine and thinks he can get some life out of 34-year-old Davies, whose contract is running out at the Reebok, but wants a decision before the weekend.
Coyle does not want to lose Davies so close to the deadline.'
So......what does everyone think?
£1.5m for a club legend, who has 5 months left on his contract, and is out the first team as he has declined alot in last 18 months....
Should we take money, or hang onto him till the summer...
As much as he is a club legend...£1.5m is alot for someone who is not in the current first team plans...
Sunderland line up £1.5m SKD

It's not that confusing, Gordon. There's a point of view that seems logical enough that, for so small a fee, we might as well keep him.

Owen Coyle has said (quote) "I want Kevin Davies here, regardless of what offer is made. He is our captain, he has been a huge part of Bolton Wanderers and he will continue to be.
He was terrific when he came on (vs Swansea) and showed how much the club means to him.
I don't want him going anywhere and he knows that - I told him day after day last week, so he knows my feelings on it."
So - Sorry Sunderland ...It's not about money ...Kevin's going nowhere ...and that's straight from the Bolton manager's lips!

Gordy lad, you're the second poster in a week to call me "Hatty", I think that might be a girl's name
