Tomorrow at 12.45, United and Liverpool meet in our eagerly awaited FA Cup 4th round clash.
The clash between us would be venomous enough without the added fallout of the recent Suarez/Evra saga. Sadly, the media have been fuelling this incident in an effort to make the game even more sensational when in truth, the clash between the country's two biggest clubs needs no additional controversy.
Emotions will be running even higher than usual between both sets of fans (and players too in all likelihood) and I have this feeling of a ticking timebomb inside.
I sometimes think is football just too tribal? We all love our teams and the weekend is all about the game for most of us. But, it's just a game of footie isn't it.
We, as fans, are just the same. I, like you, am as normal a person as I can be. Im married, couple of kids, get up in a morning, go to work, come home, have tea, mess around with the kids, put them to bed, sit down to a film or something, have a beer, go to bed. I doubt that differs too much from my Liverpool counterparts. Yet, when it comes to football all that normality seems to go out of the window. I'll scream abuse at the the guy who is no different to me, apart from his football shirt. He'll scream abuse back. We just do it in the name of supporting our teams. It's been like that for ever and will go on like that, forever.
Steven Gerrard said yesterday that tomorrow should be all about the football. I would LOVE that to be the case.
Let's not forget, come Monday morning, we all get up for work/school and another week begins. I just hope we are talking about what a fantastic game of football it was and not something more unsavoury.
SAF wrote to United fans asking for calm, vocal and witty support. I applaud that stance and hope it is taken to heart.
Liverpool and United are two of the World's greatest and most successful clubs Nothing can take that away from us. Nothing. We should be setting an example and hopefully we can rise above any stupidety and witness a fantastic game tomorrow.
I can't wait.
Come on United!!!!!!
(See you on Monday morning for the arguments about the appaling ref, the fans behavior, the fans abuse of Evra and the diving)
Why oh why do we do it to each other?

Great game - right result! You can't keep a good man down. Kuyt invariably gets it right in the end.

No mate, I can acknowledge a decent article, I wish there were more of them on here to be honest.
What do you think the score will be tomorrow? I think Liverpool will win 2 or 3 nil. I think the CC win and Dalglish's backlash to the players after the Bolton game will see a different Liverpool from now on.

liverpool will probably win 2-1 after being outplayed in their own backyard

Thank you! They got absolutely dominated by our aging 3 man midfield and if it wasn't for an Evra mistake we may have took this to a replay at OT. I hope we smash them there in February

how many saves did Reina have to make???

Suarez is back for the game at OT. The players also won't be knackered. Well be able to play our strongest side with Johnson, Bellamy, Kuyt etc starting.
I look forward to it!!!

Gerrard on whether they deserved it: "Being honest? Not on possession, not on general play."”

I have to say I was impressed with both the United OAPs...

We can't say the same about Carra or Gerrard though

I was shocked when Gerrard came off but hey, we were more clinical and won the game. You guys outplayed us but look who's through and look who's out,
