Jos Buttler for ODI's???

why are English born and bred neglected in English selection??
Jos Buttler for instance looks to be such a great talent and such a big hitter and but I think his only disqualification is his birth certificate..
Why are South-African born and bred looked upon in high regards as the English born and bred and that too playing for the team that is called England??
Hey ECB, You better pick that young Buttler for ODI's, will you?

Funnily enough though rabbitthole, I bet you weren't calling for him to be replaced by a 'fair dinkum' Aussie.

How about the young lad from Pakistan you've been playing, you want him out of the squad as well?

People in glass houses and all that...

neon, very commendable indeed and so you should be proud as I am of my father & ancestory...

What has Pieterson and your old man got in common.....absolutely jack....

It's the one's that turn up after showing a hint of talent that I'm against or those that use the back door of ancestory to get in based on cricket talent.

I don't know what it is about the English cricket that brings these youngsters to your shores to try out and see if they can break through.....I've got a mate from when we were kids and played footy together and he up and left a terriffic job, sold his house just around the corner from me here and took his 2 boys to England in order of having a better chance of making cricket a career......I haven't got any idea of why/how it is better, perhaps you lads can tell me.

What astounds me of the above and my mate is his lads were only 14 -15 at the time, yes they are very good cricketers but shish!! there are thousands at that age where we think they might make it to the top.....3 years ago he left with his wife for England..
I wish I knew which county so I could google something up and see how they are performing, I shall endeavour to find out.....

Murdoch, as for Khawaja.......his parents left Pakistan because of the conflict, does a young lad need to be punished because of it....have you heard him speak in an interview.....it's not as if he arrived as a baby from N-Z or West-Indies or Eng.
If you think he should be punished then that's your call not mine.

When will Aussie supporters stop bringing up this old chestnut of SA players in the England team.

Its not just the aussies that bring this up. We saw in the summer, certain posters making this a major topic for discussion. I suppose when you annihilate someone 4-0, they’ll come up with any excuse to justify why their own team lost…. The whole south african players bull has been done to death – its boring to the extreme. People need to move on.

It would be different if the shoe was on the other foot...

Some certain people don't like this discussion because it leaves a grey area over the ranking of No.1.....

Besides....England cricket has got to set some sterner guidlines or it will only get worse regardless of anyone's opinion of whether they are elidigible.

Look at the Premier Leauge....25 years ago Liverpool had the most foreign players with 3....now look at the Premier League and where it leaves England re; selection duties...
