Interesting news regarding Morrison

I was at the gym today and happened to come across two guys one of them who is training to become a scout for Aston Villa and the other an ex footballer who never made it, they happened to be talking about the FA, transfer deadline day, young players etc

After a while Morrison's name popped up in the conversation, they were talking about how much of a great talent he is, his 'gangster' side and how he is better than Raheem Sterling who they also seemed to rate very highly. Then the ex-footballer came out with something which was unexpected to the say least, he stated that the barber who cuts Ravel Morrison's hair is a friend of his and this barber apparently told him that Ravel was 'a crackhead'.

Now I know this could be a total and utter lie and some of you may not believe me which you have the right not to, but what did he mean by the term 'crackhead' did he imply that he is involved with drugs or that Ravel is just a total nutter?

If the former do you think this maybe was part of the reason why United in particular Fergie decided to let him go?

Once again I stress this could be bullsh*t but I thought i'd share my story with you guys and see what you think

Do you know a lot of 6' 4" fifteen year olds then?

God you realy are stupid.

---

Actually I do, the younger generation are generally taller than the older generation.

I pick my cousin up from school sometimes and he's 6 foot 1 and his pals are all massive, and skinny, just like De Gea. My cousin is 15.

When i was 16 i was 6 foot 1 and had a bigger build than De Gea.
When i was 21, i weighed 185 pounds. I weigh 180 pounds now and i am 26 .

he just has a small frame and he needs to get BIG man! GET HENCH!

If De Gea can play in goal for Athletico Madrid at 18 and his tiny frame and no presence etc, i am certain Morrison could play for United in midfield, he looks a more confident bloke than De Gea.

It doesn't matter now anyway, he's off to the hammers!

So, no 6'4" fifteen year olds then.

am certain Morrison could play for United in midfield, he looks a more confident bloke than De Gea.

Why do you think that might be? I will give you clues if you need them.

Have you lost faith in the guy that has won all he has because he won't start an 18 year old dikhead?

******************************************

no i have lost faith in him and our youngsters of this era. as someone mentioned, have you seen de gea? has he shown anything worth putting him in a game against liverpool other than the 18 million paid for him? tbh ando, nani etc what was it we saw in their first yr that made us so sure he will become whatever we hope him to become? do you think those early yrs did not have a formative experience to nani? why then not our own youngsters? why must they go on loan for 2-3 yrs before they are deemed ready?

look fergie is confusing himself. he is signing players like jones for big money and throwing them in then telling morrsion, your not good enough yet, you have not played enough first team games at this level. wha? smalling was starting for us 2 yrs removed from maidenstone. is that a higher level of football than our reserves?

if you are going to put your head in the sand that is ok. ronaldo, nani, anderson, hernandez did not come in to the team knowing the united way, they learnt it from being around the 1st team. these day players play at an earlier age. the better they are, the faster they come up. wilshire was playing at 17, mcechran was too. why must ours get a chance when they are 20-22? i look at cleverley and wonder why we have to be getting a player who was good enough to play for us at 20 (as good as what we had at the time) at 22 while ando who has still yet to perform has been in the system for 4 yrs now and has not come close to his price tag. why players like cesc can have a whole career by the time we decide to promote the player. we had to find out that gibbo was not good enough at 23? then give him 2 more yrs just to prove it.

the age of players taking the step up is no more 21-23 it is 18-20. we clearly know this because we have been buying 18-20 yr olds and throwing them into the deep end. why then not for the ones we develop?

like i said elsewhere, the best youngster we produced in the last 5 yrs is gone (better than cleverley and welbeck) i dont care what the reasons were, we effed up. now we are losing him for a million? you do not see something wrong with this?

You are confusing young players who have come up from our youth system and have no, or very little first team experience, with players who SAF purchased at a young age who do have first team experience.

and why dont they have the first team experience? is he not the manager to give it to them? if not in his first team, then loan them out. what better time to see what a player can offer than when you literally have no midfielder and are playing the bottom team at home! fergie of old will play pogba or morrison in that especially now they were getting antsy. the old fergie will say, you think you are worth it? show me. this fergie plays park and rafa.

de gea has been playing for 2 yrs in his league, done fantastically too. i was a big supporter of his coming and maintain that he should play the whole season as a starter, why? because to me he is still a youngster regardless of his exploits. even worse he is a foreigner. for him to understand what he is up against, he has to play as often as possible. your not going to teach him how dive any further or jump any higher, what he needs is experience in the highest levels of english football. it is a different league, different tactics and it is really something you can only understand on the pitch.

i dont see the difference from nani playing 2 yrs in portugal and cleverley playing the same two yrs in the reserve. the prem is as different to the premiera liga as the reserves is. does he have the raw ability? does he know the basics? get him up there and play him. it is policy that those clubs took to make those 20 yr olds we are paying millions for. why not take the same risk on our players then, the top level ones, not the patient and loyal ones. the ones who at the same level stood out. it does not make sense.

tbh if morrison was in another club and progressed like the likes of oxlade and walcott etc, we and a few other clubs would probably be sniffing around now with a big club probably paying top money for him more than willing to pay him the 30,000 a wk he asking now. in fact the cynical part of me thinks he refused to sell him to a prem club so it does not come back and smack him in the face.

bebe got what? 4 starts? seriously.

posted on 31/1/12

Yeah there is no way in footballing terms that morrison was any worse than obertan or bebe, both of whom are absoulutley horrifically shocking.

I mean he is a tool box and for that reason im glad he is gone, but in terms of ability, he is better than those two gems that fergie saw fit to give game time too.

In fairness, Jones is 19 and gets a fair crack at the whip, why? Well because he cost us £19m, if he was free, would be playing? If he never got a chance at Blackburn, he wouldn't be with us.

If Morrison or Pogba were at any other PL club (City & Chelsea apart) they would be getting games. SAF has shown in recent seasons he generally likes until players are 20/21 and had a loan spell before giving a decent oppurtunity in the first team.

Personally, I think giving Ravel 20 mins at the end of a game we are in control of would do him good, and it would give SAF the chance to see if he is good enough. Or is it better to keep bringing Giggs on at the end of a game?
