Better be waterford crystal that Ooe or your missus is right.

At my parties, 666, everyone ends up horizontal.
From the beer...... from the beer.

To be fair, I find there's nothing more annoying when drinking beer than being able to place it on a flat surface for a moment or two, perhaps to open a pistachio nut or play charades, so this invention is perfect.
If available in clubs it would virtually wipe out rohypnol based assaults overnight.
Ban it.

The first time I ever saw one of these contraptions was in Brugge a few years ago - I was there 5 days and tried around 30 different beers. Kwak was one of my favourites, and it's one that I can reproduce pretty well too.
The design of Belgian beer glasses is intended to enhance the characteristics of the beer, but what characteristic requires a round-bottomed glass supported by a lump of tree is beyond be.
Gimmicky beyond belief but cool all the same - it's another one to add to my collection. Next up - a Westvleteren 12 glass.

The contents are not fit for human consumption, apparently, but then none of your other beers are, innit?

My beers are fit for superhuman consumption 666, as you will find out when we arrange a meet (when Kev comes over next).
The missus and I are heading over to Holland and Belgium for a few days in Spring - I aim to go to Westvleteren and pick up the maximum amount of Westvleteren XII from the monastery - 48 bottles.
WV12 has recently been voted the best beer in the world by the Ratebeer website - a bunch of pseuds passing judgement over beers instead of just enjoying them. I've had a bottle once and it was very nice, but really no better than Rochfort to my uneducated palate.
Today's beer is in the fermenter - a nice amber-to-golden ale, 1064 OG, Safale S-04 yeast. The wort tastes divine - the hops I used are Citra and they give a huge grapefruity hit.

Sorry OOE: lots of running about had to be done so apologies for the lateness of my considered response to your worthy comment, which is as below;
Super.

No problem, 666.
It was one of your better responses, and well worth the wait.

Sometimes I find the old adage "less is more" to be pertinent, much as I probably will after a gobful of sediment-masquerading-as-beer you'll force on me

Glad you agree that the sediment is the best part.
