WELL DONE MARCHERS February 11 2012
Response to Re: 1000 on march
Well done to all those true leeds fans who marched and sang. Men, women, girls, boys and even young toddlers. You put the effort in on a longish walk on a cold day. You will go down in the history of LUFC as being part of the early stages of ridding it of a very clever and crafty conman who has been leeching money from its fans for 7 years.
Last demonstration there was 400ish at Billys statue. Today between 1000 and 1500 on the march. Lets keep this growing now. I really get the feeling that there are 1000s of fans who are not sure whether to get involved. They hate bates and his greed and lies but think it's all a bit futile.
Well lets be totally clear - IT IS NOT FUTILE. People power will work. It will heap pressure on an old corrupt greedy man. Anyone who describes themselves as Leeds United fans (those that haven't been for years, those like myself who have now had enough of the deception and will not give another penny and those that simply cannot live without watching the team) - it is time to unite against the ownwer of our club. We cannot go on in any circumstances being lied to and robbed.
THE NEXT MARCH THERE WILL BE 2000-3000 marching for change. Then 5000 marching towards the ground. We must unite to get the lies out of leeds.
1000 march

Personally I think the march is a good thing and sends a strong message to Bates, Lorimar and Harvey.
Marching and protesting is the best way for fans to air their views and feelings, it's also the best way to eventually get the media involved.
The crowds and marchers grow, so does the media coverage, and so does the message to Bates.
If the marchers and protesters grow in number every march, eventually the pressure is on Bates, from fans and media alike.
Somewhere along line the FA may be pressurised into investigating Bates and bunch of companies he's part of, one way or the other.
Paper trails can be followed; if they come to an abrupt halt then someone's going to want to know where the missing paperwork is.
I support the marchers and protesters, sorry, but I'm to far away to join in.
Maybe those that think it's futile to march can put their own ideas into the hat.

Cozer
You need to delete the word clever from one of your posts!
All power to the people that marched, solidarity brothers (and sisters!), eh?
But in all honesty to Ken Bates all you've done is walk to the game on match day.

Can I make a suggestion to you 'protesters' don't walk to the ground protesting and moaning about how bad things are! Meet at the ground and walk into the City Centre, then instead of paying money to Bates go into the local charity shops and donate your ticket money, merchandise or programme money etc to charity!
Get the press to cover it.
The Yorkshire Post, Local TV, Radio and YEP would be all over you like a rash!
Bates would love that eh?

...and whatever the protesters raise for charity Bates will quadruple due to the kindness of the man

Cozer .... that first sentence is where the implication of disrespect sits. You're hinting that it was the "true fans" who marched and sang. Wrong, plenty of "true fans" have their own opinions on the situation and didn't see the need to march and sing. They respect why you did - and i'm one of those - but i'm just as committed to the club as you.
