I think this may have been even harder to do:

He should have known better, but it really is a stupid rule in the game.
Anyone read Stephen King's 'The Long Walk'?

The rule is fine - nobody needs to take their shirt off, everyone knows the rule.

The rule is stupid
There's players who assault opponents or go in with studs and yet the punishment for taking a shirt off to celebrate is the same
what they should do is only allow first yellows for taking off shirt
If they're already on a yellow then just give a bleedin warning.
Football rules are fooked - i hate the deliberate handball rule too as 99% of handballs arent deliberate.

Yet another footballer showing he thinks the rules don't apply to him and proving he is brain dead. Fine him a months wages, it might sink in then. I would be furious also if I was his manager. You don't deserve your wages if it is a self inflicted red card like that.

50yrs
Do you think taking ones shirt off should receive same punishment as a dangerous tackle / violent conduct ?

This is the kind of thing a young talent learns on a season long loan, can't wait to see him challenging Aguero and co for a first team place next year x

No of course I don't think that but I don't make the stupid rules up. Same as a card for time wasting, they add the time on anyway so why a card? But whatever we think doesn't matter. Rules are rules and he needs to learn. I would still fine him.

The internet with sites like Facebook and Twitter has had a lot of impact in certain area of life so why not start a petition to FIFA to get rid of stupid rules that are ruining our beautiful game. The yellow for removing a shirt is a good example, the game has not re-started so why is this an offence? If a player removes his shirt during open play then fair enough but after a goal when the game has not kicked off again is just stupid.
Having said that, i do agree with 50yrs that when players know that they are going to be booked for it they should be smarter and if they have been warned by their manager before the game yet still do it they should be fined by the club. To do it when you already on a yellow simply beggars belief and they should be fined big time.
