It may rile a few feathers to say 'I told you so' but I TOLD YOU SO!
Back at the start of the season I was branded a "plastic, whatnext esq WUM" who was berated by the majority of True Blues in here because of my negativity with so many confrontations that I was temporarily banned.
Well to this day I have not contradicted myself or changed tune. All the problems I saw arising way back from July have just unfolded into a titan of misery.
I kept being told "stop being negative this is transition". My constant replies were that "you just cannot have a successful transition if you keep 8+ players of the old guard with just a COUPLE new signings. Tactics alone will not supplement a transition if you don't change personnel". We have so many past it and old players that not clearing them out this summer was a recipe for disaster.
Again I kept getting told "evolution not revolution"!!!
Again I disagreed and said "that you needed to revolve to evolve".
Another few opinions I made which were recieved hostile receptions were that Raul Meireles is not what we need, a 28/29 year old average midfielder who is no improvement on a declining Lampard.
-Mata alone was not enought to change our style of play
-Sturridge is not our answer to a winger. His speed alone is not enough. He needs to have those EFFECTIVE abilities as a winger such as being able to put in a peach of a cross.
Bottom line is its a shame to the position we are in now. If only AVB who had PLENTY of time to revamp and instill his inital footprint on the job showed his authority in the transfer market and team changes then we would probably be better off or at least have more reason to be positive.
You only get 1 summer transfer window per year and ONE without international distractions every other year. It was set up perfectly for AVB in this regard and he failed miserably.
I'm honestly not all that upset and I will stick by this club through thick and thin. Its just a shame most of you are pulling your hair out now. I pulled mine out 6 months ago and its all grown back.

Roman is just the owner. He doesn't speak or anything, how do you know that his head is being turned and majorly influenced by the executive faces of our club in Goulray and Buck????
More responsibility and criticism should be on them two. Not Roman. He only wants the best for our club and his investment shows it.
We have two rubbish board leaders who take care of most of our business matters. They are a failure and that has trickled down to our squad.

Dont get me wrong here , im not anti R/A.
But after almost 1bln investment into the club we are in a sorry state.
We should have a quality squad , a back room set up full of experianced x players running things.
a youth system producing qualty players who get a chance to flourish.
A stable managerial set up.
we donnot have any of these things.
The buck stops with R/A he makes all the key policy descisions.
Its time for him to pick a group of professioinals he trusts and step aside.
