Who is the most respectable player in the league? Obviously he must play in a top half club, has good looks, decent human being and hasn't been involved in any controversy, diving etc. A player you would gladly present as a role model for the youths or other players to emulate.

For players that have retired and also have similar attributes look no further than Dennis Bergkamp or Gianfranco Zola. Loved everywhere and they never had to get by on a 'Scholes cannot tackle' kind of excuse.

silva doesn't complain about his wages because he's probably on 200k a week where as matas on something like 65 i think

But he is a brilliant brilliant player. Probably my favourite non-Chelsea player

Respected? Can't think beyond Scholes and Gerrard. Would've said Giggs but I think he lost a lot of respect after revelations in his private life..
