What has respect got to do with looks?

Aside from that, i'd say as a dark horse.. Lucas

This man was criticised for a couple of years and was mocked by many ex players etc. Yet not once did he appear in any papers or give interviews bad mouthing them.
Lucas worked and trained hard and in a few short years has become an established member of the Liverpool team, a popular player in the brazilian international set up and is never ever associated with scandal.

A credit to all footballers.

The OP said who doesn´t dive so that rules Hart out as he is a GK and Gerrard because he taught Suarez everything he knows

Thought he was just using diving as a example of controversy. All club rivalry aside though Gerrard is probably one of the most respectable players in the league along with the ginger nut Scholes. Annoying to say but i'd go for either one of them two

I wouldn't say Gerrard or Scholes are most respected as I've seen many times when people..well disrespect them

Mikel...........i really think the lad conducts himself very well and he has never been fully accepted by the Chelsea fans as a player, myself included. Yet despite that he gives 100% and never moans, I really like Mikel, shame I can´t quite believe in him as a top quality player.

Gerrard was involved in that bar brawl a while back, definitely not the most respected player in the league.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Mata or Silva. They never complain about the weather, physicality or wages. They do not dive, they're good looking, they don't moan even when harshly dealt with. Play excellently with flair and effortlessness and are generally loved around the league.

Surely it has to be Mata or Silva, probably Silva as he has spent more time in the season

Suarez
Nick Griffins poster boy

For players that have retired and also have similar attributes look no further than Dennis Bergkamp or Gianfranco Zola. Loved everywhere and they never had to get by on a 'Scholes cannot tackle' kind of excuse.

silva doesn't complain about his wages because he's probably on 200k a week where as matas on something like 65 i think
