Well, I woke up this morning, the wife made a nice cuppa and some toast, so as I always do I switched on the teletext for the lastest news, then shock, horror, "Megson sacked by wednesday", how I managed to keep the tea in my mouth is anyones guess, this is without doubt the maddest decision I think any chairman has took, even more shocking than the Lee Clark sacking a couple of weeks ago, the only difference is, we are sad to see him go, and Im no different. We have just beaten our rivals, in third place and looking healthy for the play off's, yes Mandy we all want Automatic promotion but seriously is sacking Megson the way to go about this?? This must really hurt for Megson as he is Wednesday through and through, regardless of whether or not he knew this was coming, and I perplexed to be honest with you, but on the other hand Im not goin to slate Mandy too much as I genuinely belive he did this with our best interests at heart, but he has made the wrong move on this one.
As much as it hurts that he has gone, we have to move on now and get behind our new manager, whoever that may be, will he go for someone who will be a popular choice (i.e. Laws) or go for someone with a reputation of getting teams up (i.e. McCarthy?). Well my head says McCarthy but my heart says Laws as Laws brought great football to our club, loved the club and had he had good money to spend (ok he blew 750k on J***rs but he's only human) we would probably be in the prem but Mandy will think that geting a proven manager with a decent record of getting teams promoted will be benificial but I dont see how we will go up automatically now. Like someone has said, the new man will be in a lose lose situation if we dont go up this season, i genuinely think that Meggy would have took us up THIS season, automatically or play offs...
In tribute Ive changed my name from "Milans mega pig slaying madine gun" to COG's blade slaying header-thats for you Meggy"
I'll miss you meggy and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting us in the position we are in, thank you for your hard work, honesty and commitment and thank you for giving the fans a smile on our faces by beating the pigs on Sunday, I'll not ever forget it!!

Di Canio.......no way!!! With his temperament he wouldn't last a week without pushing MM on his bum and then being shown the door!!

Hey, Laws did a good job in my humble, like I said he wasnt given much financial backing and made a side that was made on a shoestring, had he had the money we have now then he would have built a better side, we played some cracking football under him too and I personally would love to see him back here

His sides shipped goals and we became very predicatble. We were in a poor state when Irvine took over - unfortunately he wasn't able to turn it around either. Neither will go down in the annals of greats at Wednesday.
Like going back to Ex Girlfriends, It very rarely works second time around when Managers return and I don't think Laws would buck the trend.
He will always be remebred for Jeffers - 250K per goal or something like that at Hillsborough ..budget gone in a blink of an eye. One of the worst signings we have had.
If MM has met with Jones and the fact he won't comment on it, its likely to be him in the hot seat next week.

For once I agree with you Earlsfield, get into a fight with MM and there's only going to be 1 winner, he who pays the piper calls the tune!

Yes and why did we ship goals? coz we had a poor Midfeild & a poor Defence, purse and beevers didnt work, had to sell Richard Wood, was there any wonder!!. Laws brought in players that he thought was the best from a budget that was available at the time, yes I agree that the worst mistake that he made was signing Jeffers which I wont condone, but I doubt he'd make the sme mistake twice, but yeah I agree with the "never go back" cliche.

Thanks Massive..
that has made may day.
Anals? Plenty of those have managed at Wednesday.
But only a few will make the Annals of greats though. Big Jack, Sgt Wilko spring to mind but not many more of late.
Laws signed Potter and O'Connor - the worst central midfield combo in the hitory of football..which is why the defense suffered (poor support) and we could'nt score enough goals (poor service).
Laws wasn't great. really.

He would have been better had he had the cash to spend, (excluding the Jeffers fiasco) then he wouldnt have signed those two thats what Im saying, therefore we wouldnt be in this division. At the time even if we had Fergie in charge we would have stuggled as much as Laws did

I took this article seriously until the 'popular choice Laws' part and then wet myself laughing. I didn't read the rest of the comments but i'm guessing he really isn't the popular choice
