Taken from today's programme.......
Running a football club is like any other business, difficult in the current climate. Here at Leeds, we will face higher rent and rates, yet we have frozen Season Ticket prices. The central distribution from the Football League will be over £600k less next season and we will have to watch our pennies, so we will not be signing Tevez or Torres.
Ken also mentions the ownership of ER and TA........
The fearless Damien Collins MP is introducing a Private Members Bill to reveal to the public who owns the ground of football clubs.
No problems with that a Leeds United. He should ask David Conn, a so-called investigative journalist.
Alternatively, he could ask Gerald Krasner, Simon Morris, David Richmond or Melvyn Helme. They were amont the consortium that bought Leeds United with borrowed money and gave personal guarantees. The consortium then sold ER and TA, which repaid the debt and discharged thier personal guarantees. They sold the properties and they must know who bought them, where the money (rumoured to be £11m) came from and where it went. Mystery solved. MOT!
One finally point, apparently 8,914 have renewed ST's.

I was really looking forward to T & T spearheading our promotion push.
So around 3,000 down from last season. So about £1.3m in lost income.
So it'll be Warnock wheeling and dealing. So expect smaller squad with hopefully better quality. Also expect sale of one of our assests..............Snodgrass or Clayton. Won't be happy with this.
As I've said before the sale of ER and TA didn't assist the club. It only saved the Yorkshire consortium. This should never have happened and they have a lot to answer for. Why did Krasner not say who owned it on the Who Owns Leeds United? programme.
Ken's words of wisdom...............

Jonty, what would he tell me? How he made a right mess of it!!! He was slagging offshore companies on the TV when talking about Bates but sold both ER and TA to ................. mmm offshore companies.

Eric - Who did the Master ask if he doesn't know who owns the ground? It's my point exactly. No-one pays 7 figures per annum to loan a ground "with a view to making a purchase" whilst also making significant investment in the infrastructure without knowing who sits behind the mysterious ownership.
It would be commercial suicide.
£15m seems to be low given the amounts spent thus far but I rather think its a figure that Bates can use when justifying the lack of investment in the team whilst maintaining high admission prices.
As for the comments regarding Bates-bashing, if I thought he was doing a sterling job with all the transparency other clubs seem to have then I would back him unreservedly. Indeed I felt that we had a real chance to progress believing Mr Bates when he said that the financial issues had been resolved and that our future would be bright. A week later we were in administration and shortly after relegated to the third tier of football. Since then, he says one thing, does another and then says something contradictory a week later and then does something else etc etc..
