Gregg Wylde

This guy has just walked away from Rangers due to their current situation. He's 20 years old and a left midfielder. Coyle has previously put a bid in for him (see below) and from what I hear the lad is a very good talent. Brilliant pace, decent left foot and the potential to be a very good player. Given we were willing to put a bid in for him at one stage, I would be very surprised if we don't offer him a deal.

Rumours are that he's off to England tomorrow to speak to 3 clubs, 2 of which are thought to be Southampton and Blackpool. Would rather him then Eagles.

Just looked and another youngster has volunteered for redundancy as well.

Great youth international scoring record, pacey and got good skill. Dare I say even if he isn't Wylde's standard on a free we could still turn a profit on him.

Hope we get both to be honest, looking a bit deeper both seem like really good prospects. Added to that we have Petrov and Ryo gone at the end of the season. We'll need a whole new left side.

how are we going to be able to sign this guy with the transfer window being closed?my guess he will go to a championship club who seem to be able to bend the rules and bring him in on loan.

Free agents can sign for anyone outside of the transfer window and because he us under 21 he doesn't have to be registered in our 25 man squad.

Who exactly do you loan a player from if they have no club? His mum?

In answer to whether he can play for us- a no by the looks of this:
(From BBC sport)

"Players who are out-of-contract free agents can be signed outside of the transfer window if they were unattached when the previous window closed, although most leagues have their own deadlines for clubs to register players to play during the season."

As he was attached to Rangers in the last window it means we wont be able to sign him, but we could have a pre contract agreed for him to sign in June, with a bonus to compensate the period he is not allowed to play. I guess we could give him a trial for 3 months to get round it?

Aside from that, know nothing about him- but as other posters say, he's free with good resale value if he's not up to it (Danny Ward type scenario) or we can keep him if he is good, like Rebel suggests!

I think if he has been made or took voluntary redundancy then he can sign for another club, if he cancelled his contract then he can't sign for anyone till the summer.
