Don't know a thing about him but I can't see him looking anywhere but Southampton.

Prem football and a 50 million windfall to negotiate for.

I remember being linked with him. Highly rated by all accounts but I have never seen him play.

Might be worth a shout for free, with him only being 20. Probable profit to be made.

Just to give a gauge on the kind of pace this kid has, his FIFA 12 pace rating is 90! Obviously that is hardly a sound piece of evidence, but to be at that level he must have some quick feet.

I wonder whether Coyle will be back in for him.

Only 20 and in the Rangers 1st team before hes quit.

Obviously being on a free, and him being young, theres huge potential for him to grow and be sold on for a large profit.

Were in £110m debt because we havent done this for about 5 years...

We need to do this to progress.

If we have a good player, we need to sell him...otherwise our debt will grow and grow like it is... £60m in 3 years is it?

then I suppose selling all our best players and getting relegated is the answer to all our problems!

glad that's sorted then

obviously trying to progress up the league and keeping our good players is not the key to success...

I hate it how coyle gives it the hard sell on any player we have who is half decent...it makes my blood boil!

that's obviously were clubs like stoke have gone wrong... they have spent money on PROVEN players not to SELL on but to make them win football matches...

what a stupid system...

Stoke have money, we do not ......

Rebel, we have sold one excellent player in four years, not exactly flogging all of our best players is it?

true... but its the constant

'he could play for an elite club'

'if the right offer came in we wouldn't stand in his way'

etc etc that we get in every interview were a player has done well... its annoying!

sorry, im on my soapbox today

Well hes only answering a question.

And because he's saying it doesn't mean they are moving and there is interest, but means he's trying I give that player a confidence boost aswell!

The point of selling is so we get more funds in to progress.

You sign 1 player for £5m.. You selling him for £10m..

With that you buy 2 £5m players, you sell them for £10m... Etc etc, that's what we should be aiming to do, that's how will we progress Trig, why do you over react and type before you think?

So he's signed, been successful enough for a couple of years to warrant a big bid from a bigger club before he's even been officially linked? We might be getting a bit ahead of ourselves here.

Well it's certainly better than saying he's not for sale ever ever ever then selling him a few months later.

Just looked and another youngster has volunteered for redundancy as well.

Great youth international scoring record, pacey and got good skill. Dare I say even if he isn't Wylde's standard on a free we could still turn a profit on him.

Hope we get both to be honest, looking a bit deeper both seem like really good prospects. Added to that we have Petrov and Ryo gone at the end of the season. We'll need a whole new left side.

how are we going to be able to sign this guy with the transfer window being closed?my guess he will go to a championship club who seem to be able to bend the rules and bring him in on loan.

Free agents can sign for anyone outside of the transfer window and because he us under 21 he doesn't have to be registered in our 25 man squad.

Who exactly do you loan a player from if they have no club? His mum?

In answer to whether he can play for us- a no by the looks of this:
(From BBC sport)

"Players who are out-of-contract free agents can be signed outside of the transfer window if they were unattached when the previous window closed, although most leagues have their own deadlines for clubs to register players to play during the season."

As he was attached to Rangers in the last window it means we wont be able to sign him, but we could have a pre contract agreed for him to sign in June, with a bonus to compensate the period he is not allowed to play. I guess we could give him a trial for 3 months to get round it?

Aside from that, know nothing about him- but as other posters say, he's free with good resale value if he's not up to it (Danny Ward type scenario) or we can keep him if he is good, like Rebel suggests!

I think if he has been made or took voluntary redundancy then he can sign for another club, if he cancelled his contract then he can't sign for anyone till the summer.
