How important is Johnsons opinion?

Glen Johnson has been giving his opinion on shakegate.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9130778/Liverpool-reignite-Luis-Suarez-row-as-Glen-Johnson-accuses-Patrice-Evra-of-manufacturing-handshake.html

How highly do you value his opinion? Has he achieved enough in the game that makes him respected enough to offer insightful analysis of this situation, or anything else?

For me, the answer is no. He's not an icon like Gerrard, he's an over-priced full back who will be forgotten very quickly when he retires. He's better off keeping his mouth shut and enjoying his wage. It also goes against the clubs official stance on the incident.

Too many footballers like Johnson simply have no brain-power off the pitch whilst maintaining massive egos.

Wild_ Rover (U5211) - Because he booked an appointment with the tabloids to specifically talk about this didn't he....

He was asked a question and he answered it.

Paisley. Trouble is he didnt think before he answered it, hence the reference to no brains.

Didn't we do this yesterday?

Sorry, i don't keep track of all the threads

I can't see any logic in reigniting the dispute, but that's what Johnson has done. If he was asked the question specifically he didn't have to answer it.

And how would they have twisted it if he hadn't answered anything?

deepspace,

I can't see any logic in reigniting the dispute

And yet that's exactly what you've done on this site by creating another article on this after it was done to death yesterday. Thanks for that, and welcome to my watch list.

So a fellow teammate sticks up for Suarez in a case that didn't require the burden of proof and yet he is criticised

hmmmm

Don't see anything wrong with Johnsons view - he's right, Evra played it out and the nation have been fooled

When has Dalglish ever answered a question he wanted to avoid?
