Scottish Football
Before he came along we had a competitive league with Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee Utd challenging Celtic for the title. We had teams progressing in Europe on a regular basis. We would regularly beat teams from Spain, Germany etc.
Then Murray came along and in my opinion cheated the whole of Scottish football. Within a few years of him arriving Scottish teams were getting pumped in Europe ( especially Rangers ) and the amount of scots playing in the league reduced dramatically. Other teams tried to keep up by buying foreign talent which has a knock on effect in youth development....... the Scottish National team then suffered.

I remember a few years ago interviews bradcast with both David Murray and Fergus McCann when they were trying to get more of the pot for themselves. Their argument was "Why should we carry the rest of the clubs". They got their way. I think the old firm now get 20% each. That leaves leaves 60% to be divided amongst the other 10 team.
The old firm have, over the years bought many a player from rivals and these players have spent most of their time in the reserves. Great move. Weaken the opposition.
You wonder why there is little competition.
