Game allows you to buy second-hand games which are far, far cheaper than if bought in supermarkets, HMV etc.
For example, FIFA 10 cost about £5 when other places had it on 'sale' for £19.99.

Yes but here you are talking about games over 6months old. New games (age wise) however, even 2nd hand at Game would be more expensive than supermarket/online new. Good example was Halo Reach - £39.99 new at Game, £37.99 2nd hand at Game or £32.99 at Asda. So swings and round abouts cos yes for that 2 year old classic you have never played will be Plat Edition in the supermarker at £19.99 and £10 end hand at game.

Personally i tend to by my second hand games from ASDA, so game closing down makes no odds at all to me.

I'm not saying GAME is good for brand new games. I agree that they are expensive.
What I am saying is that they offer a large range of second-hand games at low prices. This is something supermarkets etc are not willing to do.

As for CEX, I've been using them since the early 1990's. They are top dog. The more second-hand game shops, the better! That's why it's a shame about GAME.

Harsh, lots of people are gonna lose their job. Their prices are bad, but they don't force you to buy from them, so it shouldn't really affect you.

Latest rumours are Wal-mart could be buying them out.
If its Wal-mart there is a chance prices could drop in the future.

This is gonna be interesting, I pre-ordered Diablo 3 from them

hammers get it spent ASAP, they have drastically cut a lot of their second hand games already (My kid got 4 decent PS3 games with his £15 card this weekend)

Real cheap for games that came out ages ago!

In game the other day i bought Assasins creed 2 and brotherhood and resident evil 5 for £20!!

cheaper than anywhere on line for those 3 games.
i agree new games at GAME are ridiculous but the second hand game prices are brilliant.
I bought a £15 Gears of war 3 from GAME 3 weeks after it came out and places like tescos are still selling it for 45 fking quid.

i will miss GAME

Game is ridiculously expensive. Rarely went there to purchase anything.
Only when I was desperate. Or other stores had run out of stock.
