Gallagher

That bloke should be ashamed of his performance and sold ASAP!
For the 1st goal he was too scared to get his head stuck in and ducked out of the way.
Also he spends far too much time pointing and moaning at other players when he's actually at fault for giving the ball away or when he can't cross a ball higher than people's heads!!

The only players to come out of this shocking performance with any credit are Kasper, Konchesky, Danns and Nugent.

Sticking to the point, another limp performance from Gallagher. For a so-called dead ball specialist, his corners were awful. it was no coincidence that we improved when he went off. Don't get better soon.

For a start you have to acknowledge that it was Chelsea. Their squad is a world apart from ours and the chances are we were always going to lose.

Having said that you have to look at the performance as a whole and generally I was a bit disappointed we didn't make them fight harder for this win. We have a soft underbelly and teams can overrun us and this has been a problem for us for years and not just today. Offensively we were ok, but defensively (and I mean the whole team in this) we were poor.

I've not been the biggest fan of Neil Danns in the past, but today he was undoubtedly our best player. Honourable mentions also go to Nugent, Beckford and Konchesky. I also thought that Dyer had a reasonable game and Marshall's goal was excellent.

Schmeichel had a rare off day. I believe he should have come for the ball for Chelsea's first goal and, like someone else has mentioned, was at fault for both corners. SSL looked out of position and Morgan and Bamba were exposed by the movement of Torres and others.

The worst two players for me were, indeed, Gallagher and also Wellens. We can't really afford to have a player who has a wonder game every 5 or 6 games, but is poor for the rest (i.e. Gally). Wellens sometimes looks like he's in his forties rather than his thirties. I've defended him in the past as I don't really think we've replaced him with anyone better, but he doesn't look capable of playing 2 games in a week anymore. Fitness clearly looks an issue and our loss of midfield control is often the key to putting pressure on our defence who end up carrying the can for our poor performances.

We can't be too tough on the team for losing to Chelsea in a performance, which did have high endeavour; but if we aren't tighter against Blackpool on Wednesday then we might not be so forgiving.

Good call Joby, we should all remember you defend from the front & attack from the back. we've got to start playing as a team not individuals, don't like picking players out for blame. you win together & lose together. it was Chelsea we played yesterday & at the minute we're a world away from them, so leys not lose the plot we could have done better & it could have been worse, be we still love LEICESTER CITY forever.

Gallagher is the epitomee of this current Leicester side. A player who clearly has some ability but who shirks tackles, shows little or no commitment to the cause and who leaves his team mates beside and behind him totally isolated. We can't keep having him in the team on the basis he might be world-class for 5 minutes per game, because his contribution to the team for the vast majority of the game is non-existent. Impact sub at best now for us.

(I wish he'd done what his missus wanted and stayed at home on Mothers Day....)

Had his wife actually ever said that I would agree with you. Sadly she never did and yet again you are bringing up a misinterpreted (by you) TWITTER comment from a WAG into this forum!

I have mentioned this on many occasions, our midfield is our main weekness! although of late Danns has been excellent, we miss the ball winner and a player who can distrubute passes......

Our midfield is just too easy to run through, it provides absolutely no cover for the defence. Danns has been the best of a bad bunch. We need to see Drinkwater and Marshall for Wellens and Gallagher very soon
