Never got on with Dylan - some great, great songs, just could never stand the guys voice. I can enjoy one or two songs, but a whole album, nope - I just start shouting "nasal git, nasal git" and put something else on.

Try Neil Young

Harvest is a good start.

I quite like Dylan, he's written some great songs but he's not as good as his die hard fans would have you believe. Actually that's the same for Neil Young.

And possibly every band/singer ever I suppose.

the beauty of music, we all hear it differently...

There are loads of popular / famous bands and artist who I think are rubbish...

Led Zeppelin for starters....

I can feel it... here it comes... any minute now... someone is going to say... The Beatles. Any... minute... now...

The Beatles.....

Nah they were pretty decent, not my thing but I like enough of it.

bands I think are vastly overrated and most disagree are

Pulp, Oasis, Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses, the Velvet Underground, Led Zepplin, U2, The Small Faces, The Who, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, Pink Flloyd...........to name a few

i'll get me tin hat.

Even though I love The Velvet Underground and Led Zep, I'd agree that they are probably a little overrated.

The rest of your list is totally fine with me, Lucas.

The Rolling Stones and The Doors would also both be there if it were my choice though.

Stones I dont mind too much, bit overrated

The Doors is a cert for that list.....

The thing is as soon as band gets big then they'll be overrated unless you happen to think they're the greatest band ever.

Which is why I only listen to bands with about 12 fans.

Not sure I understand 'overrated' in this context. Of course there is plenty of 'popular' music that is in fact utter cack - twas always thus.

But, I don't quite get how Led Zep can be classed as overrated...some brilliant songs, outstanding musicians and vocals... what's not to like? The fact that they were popular as well should hardly be held against them.

Same goes for Pink Floyd - although, between you and me, I can't stand some of the early albums, for me they've done 4 good albums, 2 of which are truly outstanding.

RHCP, I'll give you that one - they had some brilliant albums about 20 odd years ago, but they've turned into a pop-dirge production band.

That's the thing JJG, there is no such thing as 'the greatest band ever'. Therefore The Beatles are both over and underrated depending on who's rating them.

The only band to buck this rule are Oasis. They're overrated no matter who is rating them.

I'm a warrior of Ghengis Khan,
I'm warrior, the blood won't wash away,
I'm a warrior, I'll kill my self one day.

"My name is Den Dennis, I am the Guitarist (the crap guitarist), I am the crap guitarist with Bad News."

I wanna watch this again - actually the album was probably better than the tv show

I remember the video to that song, Lucas.

the video shoot for that song is brilliant, Rik Mayal falls into a hold on the battlefield and is seen crying and holding his leg....

they played Donnington Rock Festival... legends.

Bad news! for you and you and you and you, cant you see devil women.......

Ade Edmonson is actually a pretty talent musician, for those who don't have an aversion to folk music you should check out his band The Bad Shepherds.

Basically folk covers of punk/new wave songs. Their version of Down In The Tube Station At Midnight possibly surpasses the original.
