Was it not a reporter in a press conference who asked him said question of who he would be supporting?
The reporter has stated himself that he asked it as a joke and that Murray's answer was given in the same tone. He has also said he wished he'd never asked the question because so many people have latched on to it to fuel their hate campaign.

It's called sporting banter.

Is it hell.
As i said, i'm under no illusion that all the English & Scottish sportsmen/women want their respective nations to fail, but to publicly say it & then expect to get support is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.
And i hate lots of people i dont know, and Andy Murray is right up there.
Oh & please dont patronise me by telling me who i should or shouldnt hate.
Kind regards.
Chicken.

Oh & mate, i'll reiterate, i dont dislike Murray because he's Scottish. I hate him because he wants to alienate the English one minute - then want our support the next.
If you want the English on your side, you do not publicly support an opposing team in a World Cup.
Its prertty much common sense to be fair.

Bloody norah I never thought I'd ever agree with anything you had to say! It seems a mutual hatred of Murray has made us put or football rivalry behind us. Until the new season kicks off anyway
I see Murray called for the trainer. Getting his excuses in early is he?
LRG,
Blimey. I never thought i'd see the day.
Enjoy your weekend everyone - i'm off down pub.

WTF!!!!!
McFlurray just misses a point. Commentator’s reaction "OH NO"!!
Sheesh. At least make some effort to hide your bias.
I like to refer to it as Arsenal time
The first game I tune in for and Murray starts bottling it. Typical.
I think I can actually see bits of McFlurray breaking off onto the court.
Murray is not comfortable in the driving seat. Doesn't bode well. He needs to get his sheeit together pronto.
why hide the biasness we are bound to want Murray to win birth player on British tournament it's obv commentators would want Murray to win if people are annoyed then mute tv and get over it and go live in Spain
This match is already over. Murray had his chance but failed to capitalise. The mental weakness has come out to play.

I'm cheering Murray on, but this is probably correct.
Murrays mental weaknesses means he might aswell retire now. Look at tsonga 2 sets down against fed, would andy ever do that? The guy drives me insane.
If a broadcasting corporation (that I have to pay for if I want to watch TV) sell themselves on impartiality, then they should d*mn well show some.
And he's been broken early on in the 3rd set. Is Arsene Wenger his coach or something?
Maybe just maybe its because Nadal the beast has found his top gear after the first set. You can't bottle a game against Nadal. He wins it through sheer force.
What’s that tearing sound I can hear.
I think Nadal might be performing a task on Murray's rectal area.

I'm sure you're outraged when football commentators are cheering United on in Europe.
