I think it could be a good thing in the long term, IF quality is signed.

Since Cesc has forced his way into the team he has become central to everything the team does. The formation we play was largely built to get the best out of him.
The problem with that is Cesc has missed a fair number of games, and no-one is good enough to replace him in the team, meaning the system we play becomes far less effective.
Maybe Cesc leaving will see a new style and system, which is even more likely if Nasri goes as well.

IMO, we need proper wingers, more robust and atheltic midfielders, and a system that does not rely on one player and nulify many more.


I want Cesc to stay, no question about that. But if he does go it won't single the end of Arsenal, but a new beginning. Hopefully a more trophy laden one than the Cesc years.


Nasri and Clichy I don't really care about. Nasri is a decent deputy for Cesc, Clichy is not good enough for a title winning team and makes too many rookie mistakes, which is inexcusible seeing as he is 25 and has been in the first team for 7 or 8 years now.
