Most of other teams already have a clear idea of players and formations, which is not the case for England.

Are you being serious? Joe Cole's best football was played under Mourinho. He was a show pony before that with little vision or direction in his game except looking to exhibit rather unnecessary tricks. He never had the awareness, touch and vision of the modern great Spanish midfielders.

He is a great manager, no doubt about that but when a player does fit his style of play, he just doesn't give him a chance or find a better way to use him.

Joe Cole believed too much in his hype. He wasn't that technically gifted: just one of those cavalier players who love their tricks. Mourinho gave him the best years of his career so I don't understand how it made him less of a player.
