it just depends on what you define as best, in terms of technical ability La liga would certainly win but in terms of sheer entertainment with end to end football then you would have to say the PL
It makes me cringe when they talk about the PL as the only league where you get results like 8-2, 6-1 etc between the big clubs. The Eredivisie has big scores like that all the time, and to be fair it is a lot harder to call the Dutch league than the English. Far more teams contest for the title and little teams beat the big teams on at least a similar rate to the PL.
And all the BS about the PL being special because of all the late goals. Every league has the same.
Tends to go in cycles, a few years ago the PL probably was the best, in terms of getting teams to the later stages of the CL. Though it would usually be a club from another league that would win it.
I think the Spanish league has done enough to be called the best at the moment but I don't think the English teams will do anywhere near as badly in the CL next year.
I don't think the big teams really care about the EL...
Think it is still quite easily second though... England may be having a particularly bad year but the Germans or Italians aren't really doing that much better...
